You can't really come out and verbalize it because it is just too unthinkable to the average person that political leaders in the US would place the people in the crosshairs of an enemy for money. The Chinese play the long game, they always have. All those Harvard and Yale educated politicians in Washington know this very well. But greed for power and money are alive and well.
