I'm going to suggest that if there were countries of the world giving millions to Clintons Foundation in 2015 in hopes she would win, there are going to be MANY countries, from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia and others that are going to be praying for a Trump victory in 2020. These nations sovereignty and survival depend on a strong U.S leader who will openly confront and stifle communist China. Not to get into a war, but to avoid it by applying economic and diplomatic pressure.

There seems little doubt that if China is not stopped from expansion, there is eventually going to be a more overt expansion effort beyond just the South China Sea...

As China and the U.S. ramp up military activity near Taiwan, Beijing plans island takeover drill

China is planning to conduct a large-scale military drill to simulate the seizure of the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands in the South China Sea, according to Japanese media reports.

Beijing and Washington have both ramped up military activities near Taiwan in recent months, including regular Chinese air force drills near the islands and several U.S. sailings through the politically sensitive Taiwan Strait.

The U.S. navy said the USS McCampbell, a guided-missile destroyer, had transited the narrow waterway on Wednesday, one week before Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen’s inauguration for a second term in office.

Japan’s Kyodo News reported earlier this week that the Chinese military intended to hold a beach landing simulation in August off Hainan Island, China’s southernmost province, which would mobilise marines, landing ships, hovercrafts and helicopters.

It cited unnamed Chinese sources as indicating the exercise may game out a scenario of capturing Pratas, which would be strategically important for China’s advance into the Pacific Ocean.

China is a nation-body obese with billions of citizens and a very, very small head known as the Chinese Communist Party. Remove China's head and (maybe) win the long term gratitude of two plus billion screaming Chinamen. I wonder . . . how would the average Chinese citizen react to both the book and the movie 1984 ? Not in public, but in the precipitous safety of their "own" homes. How many millions of them would realize then the bald faced tyranny crushing their souls and bodies that is their own government? Yes, the time to act against China is now. Sadly, I suspect many of those in our President's own administration would never allow him to take military action against China.

Average Chinese react to 1984 as to book about Brits, not about tyranny. Actually, they have their own set of fears about state, described, for example, in "Cat Country" written by Lao She.

You see, their historical experience clearly demonstrate them, that the foreign invasion crush much more souls and bodies than any type of their own government.

Just for lulz. New Chinese 'patriotic' video with their dreams about nuclear strike at Anderson AFB, Guam, by their H-6K.

China will give the Xi/Harris campaign over $500,000,000. You watch

China is producing a new naval vessel every several weeks. They have caught up to us in some ways but are behind in others. During a conflict they will be able to produce new hardware quickly. They have many factories for defense. Their defense in a few years or so will be formidable enough to take us on with the help of Russia. After the first round of hardware destruction our Navy will be depleted. We will not be able to put a ships in the water as fast as they can. At some point after the air wars go the way of attrition, nukes may be our only option. We are subsidizing them to destroy us. Even with Trump trying to change the trade ways with them. If Biden wins, the Progs will continue and even expand trade with them. At some point..."game over".

Maybe those countries should learn to defend themselves rather than expecting the American taxpayer to do it.

Not, exactly. They need a leader which will unite them against their common enemy. Of course, they should be capable to defend themselves, but anyway they will rely on American intelligence, nuclear shield, hi-tech hardware etc.

So basically we need to tax people in this country so that we can pay to defend someone else’s. This is outrageous. If they want our protection, they can apply for statehood. Damned thieves...

Again, not exactly. First of all, these countries should pay significant part of the expenses for American involvement.

Second, the defense agreements should include economical passages, which will give American companies great preferences in comparison with other countries.

Third, keeping in check such countries as China, Russia and Iran is in American interests too.

Yes, exactly. They’re freeloaders. End of story. Talking about what they should do is worthless because they’re not going to do it. The economic benefits probably aren’t offsetting the fact that we basically have to pay to keep other countries safe regardless of the fact that it makes no difference to us. China, Russia, and Iran are not only far away, but they don’t even have the military means to negate our massive naval superiority or our massive nuclear arsenal. They are not going to invade us so long as MAD and the USN remain a thing. This stuff is literally a waste of taxpayer money. Nevermind the fact that half of these countries are fair weather friends who will leave us out to dry the moment the gravy train stops.

Almost everybody here is assuming that China is aggressive, expansive, seeking world dominance, our necessary enemy. That is not how I read the present situation. Projections or even guesses based on historical knowledge are fine, but projections based on paranoia or expectations that the future requires U.S. world dominance ... not so much.

Those who talk about the need for war, trade war, or especially military war with China, are talking through their hats. The history of China, its people, it’s long imperial, bureaucratic and at times even totalitarian leadership — none of these indicate war is necessary. Problems in Chinese society there are without any doubt. Serious problems. But there are problems with U.S. society as well.

Our “democracy” may not survive its inevitable relative economic decline and loss of superpower status. Already we see the pressures building. Realism is required. Willingness to forge a road to transition to a multipolar world. Nothing stands still. Not the U.S.A. Not even Wall Street’s world financial empire. Not China either.

My best estimate: Our present policies in the world — seeking to use force, military and financial blackmail, against China and other economic “competitors,” so as to preserve our world dominance — will not work, but lead to disaster.

Very true. We are watching the Empire murder itself.
