He reduced, and shut off the legal border crossings at legal custom points of entries, and reduced the immigration courts and reduced immigration judges....taking years to get their cases heard in immigration courts....which under the law, we have to give the asylum seekers a court hearing on whether they qualify as a refugee.

I argue that shutting off the legal crossing points for asylum seekers just made them flood illegal crossing points, overwhelming border patrol agents, who were spending their time looking for gang members, drug traffickers etc. trying to cross the border....

My suggestion, is that we over staff legal crossing points when a caravan of asylum seekers are at the border, making it a quicker process so they don't skip the long lines and jump the border illegally taking up border Patrol's time...

Then have our immigration courts increased and stacked to the hilt with immigration judges, so that it takes 2 to 3 days or a week for an asylum seeker to go through the mandatory court hearings and process instead of a year's wait.

(Over 90% of asylum seekers are denied by the courts... of refugee status, they don't meet our legal requirements.)

This would eliminate having to release asylum seekers in to the streets, or overwhelm our 'cages' and places to hold them, because they are being processed so quickly in immigration courts... Preventing the asylum seekers from disappearing and not showing up at their court hearings six months to a year later....and becoming a permanent ghostly illegal alien.

If when asylum seekers arrive, we had our border entries and immigration courts and judges stacked to the hilt, instead of reduced... and processed right away, and they were turned down by the judge right away for refugee status, of which 90% plus will be, and then immediately deported and flown back to Central America....it will become known to these Central American asylum seekers that the month long arduous thousand mile walk in a caravan is not worth it!

They can't just get here, play our back logged immigration court system, and disappear in to the woodwork awaiting trial they will likely never show up for, as they have been able to do.

This imho, will eventually discourage asylum seekers forming caravans in the future...
