Older guy in his 70's, told me he served in Vietnam. He's 4 ' 6" , just a little guy.

In the current era, he'd be too short, but how about in the 1960's? Would he have been taken, or is he telling tales?

I served with a guy in 1968 about 4'9". I don't know about today.

Not sure about those requirements but it would be stupid to require you be taller. Those poor guys that were that short likely had the worst job in the platoon. They were likely what was called a tunnel rat. Great fun they got to go into holes two at a time just to meet several of vc Awesome job ya get to die in a dark dank hole.
