Arizona’s Immigration Law Spurs Copycat Legislation

I suspect that Arizona's new law will stand the test of time but The Supreme Court will most likely give illeagal aliens from Mexico a waiver.

The South Carolina bill reads: “When reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt must be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person.”

Civil rights advocates, like the Rev. Al Sharpton, blasted the same phrasing in the Arizona law as opening the door to ethnic profiling of Latinos and anyone else appearing foreign-born.

That phrase is NOT in the AZ law. Do these guys think no one will check what they say???

Wouldn't need it if the federal Government followed and enforced our current immigration laws!!!!

ask all current senators and congressmen if they are in favor of enforcing our immigration laws and then voting out all not in favor!!!! they are so worried about the latino vote but what about the majority non-latino vote. don't we count? do we get represented or do only the minorities get representation? with millions of unemployed Americans out of work and these jobs being taken by illegal workers do you want these peoples votes in the upcoming election. I bet all these unemployed are not in favor of illegal immigration or amnesty!!!! we want our immigration laws followed and enforced and Mr Obama where is the promised border fence that was promise to us? What is the progress of this fence being built? How many miles have been built since you took office???

Have you ever asked yourself WHY the federal government hasn't enforced our immigration laws regardless of which party has the presidency or congress? It's out corporations. They give money with the expected outcome that they will be allowed to bring in cheap, undocument labor. Immigrants who come through the proper channel are not willing to work for less than legally permissible wages. Illegals are caught between a rock and a hard place, so they will work for anything they can get.

We won't solve our illegal immigration problem until our companies (ag and non-ag) wake up and stop insisting that the federal government allow them to import cheap labor.
