Apparently they think the government should pay for all the services it offers them. Highways be damned!

I think it's safe to say. The wealthy should be taxed the most not because it is what's fair, but because it's what's the most realistic. That is where the main source of our government funding comes from (regardless of whether or not the president in charge is over spending). Even if you don't agree with that logic, you should at least agree the greed that keeps wealthy people from paying taxes is flat out wrong.

Why are you being a whiny little bitch and calling people who follow the tax law greedy? I bet you take all the deductions allowed.

The revenue collected from the rich is important. It funds most of our government. I mean shit, the top 1% own 40% of the nation's wealth. Why shouldn't they pay the most?

They do, they pay about 60% of the taxes, maybe we should drop that to 40%. Wouldn't that be fair?

60% really isn't enough but it's close. Of course it depends on how many people we are talking about.

No. Wtf are you talking about?
Ah OldSchool don't me let down!
Nah man focus your energies elsewhere
No way. The rich putting their wealth overseas is wrong and greedy. The country relies on their contribution.
If you demand that the country rely on their contributions then you inadvertently support republicans by driving the wealthy towards that party. Take a step back from it all and look at things logically. Democrats need to bring fresh ideas to the table; we can't just get upset at people who are wealthy.

During war we get pissed at republicans for demanding more and more and more from our soldiers and citizens; we can't be the party of demanding more and more and more from people who happen to be making money during peacetime.

You might want to ask that of Obama's job Czar, Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of General Electric, who is one of the top outsourcers of jobs in this country. One that even ultra liberal Dennis Kucinich complained about.

Then you might want to ask Obama--why is it that General Electric made 108 billion dollars in 2011 and didn't have to pay a single penny in Federal Taxes on it.

Isn't funny how politicians like Obama campaign on one thing, and then promote the exact opposite?

Look, I don't have anything against being wealthy. I certainly don't disparage all of them. I am just referring to the ones who don't pay their taxes. To me they have that responsibility.

Yep, the man from GE is an asshole. I'm not sure what your point is connecting him with Obama. If Obama campaigned on higher taxes for the wealthy then he would only look like a fool if he didn't sign it into law given the opportunity.

We were talking about the 1%, the top 50% pay almost 99% of the income taxes, how about we get the bottom 50% with a little skin in the game as slow joe says. Then maybe they wouldn't be so quick to vote for crap government programs that don't work.

We are greedy. Every one of the wealthy folks that I know are textbook greedy. We even fully deduct our toilet paper. How do you think there is income disparity between rich and middle class? Republicans gave us the advantage.

As you said, the wealthy already pay the lion's share, so what are you suggesting? You want them to pay all of it?

I think we need to get rid of the Federal Reserve and crony capitalism. It's the dirty relationship between Washington and Wall Street behind most of our problems. They are the reason for the 1% running the country.

Sure i all for the bottom 50% to pay taxes. First we must raise the minimum wage.
