Zone1 Are Religions Moral???

Through out history mankind has naturally and instinctively formed groups. There's nothing nefarious about it. It's natural. It's no more different than any other grouping of men and women.
True enough, but such groups can quickly become nefarious by promoting falsehoods and manipulating others, whether for influence or money.

In the OP's comments about Jews and Christians it spoke specifically about lying. Concerning Islam it went off on a tangent about their choice of how they wished to be governed.

Reading that choice of Muslims, it reinforced my desire and gratitude for a secular government.

Getting back to how Jews and Christians see lying, it made me curious about Islam's view on the matter. A quick search offered this:

The Quran strictly condemns lying, categorizing it as a major spiritual disease and a trait of hypocrites or those who reject faith. Truthfulness is commanded as a fundamental pillar of righteousness, while habitual lying is said to result in a loss of divine guidance.

True enough, but such groups can quickly become nefarious by promoting falsehoods and manipulating others, whether for influence or money.
Yes, but it's because of the men, not the tendency to herd. But the other side of that coin is that they can do good by promoting truth, civility, respect and humility. You seem to be hung up on the dogma and the form of religion rather than the spiritual aspect of it. A good religion teaches civility and that's not a bad thing.
