CDZ are bad cops the product of individuals suffering from mental illness caused by what theyve seen policing violent inner cities ?

Floyd's death was a homicide. Whether it will ultimately be murder 1, 2 or 3 or manslaughter is up to a jury to decide.

I gotta go with Leo on this one y'all. No, this wasn't an execution, using that term just amps up the vitriol on both sides. It was murder, plain and simple, and it's up to a jury to determine what level of murder it was.

People on the left gotta quit using rhetoric and inflammatory language, just like people on the right gotta stop. Making something sound worse than what it actually is (and yeah, executions by police are worse than murder), doesn't do anyone involved in the conversation any good.
If it’s murder one, it’s premeditated and execution is an appropriate term. So, we are not arbitrarily using the term.....

Exactly....and if it’s murder one, it’s an execution. Nothing in the video showed any violence at any time by Floyd when he was moved several times by just one cop and escorted across the street where several cops started to manhandle him into a squad car. At that time he complained about being sick with Covid and did not want to be exposed again. That’s when he struggled was pinned down and killed. Once down, he kept pleading for his life....While one officer applied the knee and the others...just watched. .until he became silent.

Again, you gotta quit with the inflammatory rhetoric. No, murder 1 is NOT an execution. Murder 1 simply means that it was premeditated. Murder 2 is not premeditated, but is still intentional. Murder 3 is manslaughter.

Sorry, but an execution is not the same thing as premeditated murder.

1. the act or process of executing.
2. the state or fact of being executed.
3. the infliction of capital punishment or, formerly, of any legal punishment.
4. the process of performing a judgment or sentence of a court: The judge stayed execution of the sentence pending appeal.

If someone else had told the cop to kill Floyd, then MAYBE you could call it an execution. But, the cop decided to do the deed himself, which resulted in Floyd's death. No, you cannot call this an execution. Like I said, both sides need to stop with the inflammatory rhetoric, as it muddies up the conversation.

If not one person in four said anything to stop the killing of Floyd, the officer had implied permission by the others to continue doing what he was doing. Lynching of blacks By uniformed (kkk) White men continued as late as 1981.
The black experience includes these episodes for over two hundred years....I have no problem referring a murder one charge as an execution by a band of uniformed police who are suppose to represent the law.
Personally, voluntary manslaughter seems appropriate. But I have no problem referring to it as an execution. Look at the video. The guy was begging for his life while cops stood and watch him die.

You didn't pay much attention to the story then, did you? Two of the people helping him hold down Floyd were rookies, and he was their training officer. Yes, one of them did ask if they should turn him over, but they were told no. Again, you gotta quit with the demagoguery and rhetoric. The more inflamed you make your speech, the less people are going to be willing to listen to you, as you are making it sound worse than it currently is.

And, fwiw, he's not being charged with murder 1, he's been charged with murder 2.

Oh great. A training officer showing police how to execute a suspect.
This story is getting worse, not better For the police. You can’t make this shit up. And, you wouldn’t want to.

weve all seen the videos of cops [though few they are] acting violently when there is no need or taking things to far to the point of criminality ....but one thing iv'e noticed is that not all but the majority of these bad cop incidences occur in violent high crime cities ... could it be that for some people policing in those areas and seeing the murder ,rape , assault and other acts of violence on a daily basis have a negative effect on their psychological health ? no im not trying to make excuses for bad cops ...they should be held accountable when they commit a crime . but maybe putting a cop in a violent high crime area for long periods of time [years] may play a role in police brutality .....
This was Minneapolis, hardly NYC or Chicago.

The real problem is this
Some U.S. police train for just a few weeks, in some countries they train for years

In some places in USA, it’s a badge and a gun in weeks of training, in other countries, it’s years of training.
It’s the same old story. We don’t put the time and effort to both screen the bad ones our or properly train the ones we have. ...

I think it is plausible to think that a person can be negatively influenced by having to deal with the dregs of society in gang infested black areas on a regular basis. So, can we blame the 'black community' and riot against them? Are we allowed to go into Chicago and start burning buildings and looting too? Can we tear down a statue of MLK?

Wow, another Karen claiming victimhood.

Actually, the statue is a little more vague. Ironically, when I googled "Murder Charge in" Google automatically finished with "Minnesota".

This is what the statue says about 1st Degree Murder in MN.

First-degree murder charges in Minnesota have aggravating factors. Sometimes first-degree murder is based on the identity of the victim. For example killing a spouse after continued domestic abuse, killing a child, killing a cop, killing a judge or killing a witness to thwart his or her testimony in another case are often charged as first-degree murder. In other cases, first-degree charges arise due to the defendant’s conduct. For example, the premeditated murder in which the defendant considers, plans or prepares for the killing beforehand or killing someone during a sexual assault, burglary, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, arson or act of terrorism may be charged as a first-degree murder case.

Now, you could argue that Chauvin didn't go out that day with a plan to murder a black man. On the other hand, there is evidence that Chauvin and Floyd knew each other and had confrontations as they both worked security at a bar. So Chauvin knew who he was dealing with when he put his knee on the man's neck.

Final point. Derek Chauvin has made a lot of people pretty miserable in the last 8 weeks. I don't think a jury is going to draw distinctions, nor do I think an elected judge wants to be known as the guy who gave the man a pass.

Probably not. Sometimes bad PEOPLE slip through the cracks and get into positions of power. There is no accounting for it.
then there should be many more cops behaving badly in low crime areas ...... i think violent inner cities play on the psyche of some police officers.... the amount of violence and brutality they witness may desensitize a small % of them ......maybe swapping officers out of those areas every few weeks would help with that.

Those that 'desensitize' are probably those that will stay alive the longest in hood rat zones.
Best way to "Police" the Ghetto? Hide your car in an alley. Sleep. Never respond until the shooting stops. Who cares? They are just gangs anyway.

Really ? You’re now thinking all gun violence occurs in the ghetto ? You can’t be serious.
