Sports interest in Millennial, and Gen Z was waning prior to the whole full on 'woke' thing came onto the scene.

However, I think this woke faggotry is ruining it for older sports fans.

They are STILL kneeling before soccer matches in Europe. They will probably always kneel, why? Cause some knee grow porn star, criminal died.

The NBA, NFL, and MLB are still actively engaged, and also promote full on queer.

Most don't watch TV and younger generation has no patience to sit and watch a sporting event. At best they'll just watch thr highlights on YouTube.

That nails my excuse. I was never into spending a Saturday watching television so I've never been much into college football. Was a big fan of the NFL but went to my last game in way back in 2020. The money I paid for a ticket wasn't worth waiting through all the commercial breaks. Since then it has gotten a lot worse and I've cut down on watching the game on TV by limiting my viewing to the local team. Sometimes I can even make it through a whole game without drifting off into a nap during a commerical.

My 18-year-old son has no interest in sports, despite my being a fanatical Ohio State Football fan. He just doesn't care. He has many more entertainment options than I did when I was his age.

i think that is a valid option and another reason for the decline. each generation tends to want to define their own way and this among all generations has been the most volatile change i've seen this country go through.

politics is sure playing into it for many. but as you point out, not all. growing up on sunday it was sit in front of the TV and watch in the 35" sony greatness you had that was the best around in 1985. it was either that or lord who knows what.

could be WHY the push into china and other markets means so much to these franchises to simply maintain revenue, if not grow.

For me its the advertising and sponsorship that's killing sport.
Sponsors ridiculous return on investment contracts are making tickets too expensive for the average Joe and players looking like fools at post match interviews being forced to display (and/or consume) their sponsors products.

Then there is the advertising - The shoe horning of adverts into almost all sports now makes the whole thing unwatchable. I want to watch the instant replays of great moments in a game, not watch Toyota adverts of their latest hybrid.

I agree above tech has removed some interest, I'm guilty of that too. End of the day it's lost it's appeal because of politics. Fuck even their commercials are politics. Professional I mean, I never was a college fan though watch games on occasion, they don't seem near as corrupt as pro.

I was a big NFL fan, and still watch on occasion. Politics beginning to end however, if they're not kneeling, National Anthem becomes politics. The announcers have to remain sensitive to PROG view, the commercials sell racism and fabrications, I still remember when just the acting was fake. Then if you ask me officials often lend themselves out for politics on another end.

Incidentally: Peyton>Brady>Montana=Marino=Graham Brady gets second spot strictly because he's played so long. Had some luck and now winning is in his blood. Really he's the GOAT, he's just not the best to ever play, for instance, Peyton, Marino & Montana were better. End of the day Peyton was the best of all, nobody comes close to the consistency and quality of play on game day. Guy was first team all-pro seven times, and was second-third spot every year but his first and last seasons. Yeah I like the QB position.
