I'm not sure I am absorbing your argument. Assuming I am correct, you are essentially asking people "why do you have your natural instincts when you should be challenging them"?

Some guys are attracted to blondes, others brunettes or redheads, maybe women from a particular part of the world, women with a particular figure, older women, unique personality traits etc. Other guys are into men of their own variety.

Why is ones attraction so different than anothers? That's the mystery of evolution and really who are we to fight it? They are very personal, a mainstay of our DNA. The mystery of ones chemicals in the brain and experiences is their own. Society shouldn't feel they have a place to guide this.

Can we break through nature? I believe so, within limits, certainly physically. What attracts one to another though is left to the universe or the grace of the Lord above. It's not societies or governments business and they should refrain from interfering in this individual process.

The "status quo" is simply a construct, it's not anyones specific reality, it may be a general guide, or, purely constructed to influence behavior. Choose to follow it or don't, good luck trying to remain happy and healthy if you attempt to defy nature however.

There is no "gay gene", lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender are behaviors, not by way of heredity. So parent's sons or daughters don't just "come out." Most of the time they were groomed to be that way by their parents, teachers, or friends.
