Paul Ryan implied in an interview with CBS News that, all voters in his home district agree with everything he decides for them. He has 100% support on Trumpcare. He has 100% support on immigration reform. He has 100% support on abortion issues. Basically, the voters, all the voters, in his home district have no opposition or criticism concerning any of his policy-making.

Ryan would have everyone believe there are NO voters in his home district who would ever consider electing anyone but him.

Using this rationale, Ryan announced, through his CBS interview, that he would no longer hold public town hall meetings. Why, because ONLY people from outside his district attend them. He is convinced residents in his district are so content with him as their representative, they have NO desire to speak to him at town hall meetings. For any reason. Yeah, Paul, there isn't a single voter in your district unhappy with your performance as his (or her) representative in the House, or as House Speaker. Right.

Instead, the cowardly Republican, Paul Ryan, will serve their needs and receive their suggestions, only through sources that can offer no criticism or opposition to HIS methods or agenda.

Other Republicans, especially those heavily under fire from constituents, will undoubtedly follow his cowardly example.

Hopefully, all the congressional Republicans will do the average Americans a BIG favor. They will, like Ryan, refuse to acknowledge, in any way, what the vast majority of voters want, or demand, of any Republican representing them in either the House or the Senate.

This "fantastic" GOP strategy will guarantee the Democrats will win the majority, in a big way, in 2018. But, the congressional Republicans must follow Ryan’s example to the letter. And again, like Ryan, do all they can to laugh in the faces of their constituents. Show your constituents the total contempt you truly have for them, they will love you for it.

Conservatives on these message boards want exactly this from their Republican politicians, more than they want life itself.

So Ryan, make certain you, and particularly your buddies, laugh loud and long at the conservatives on these message boards as well as those in your home districts. This is what conservatives want.

As for you stupid, short-sighted conservatives, every last one of you, please, rate this OP funny. Rational people really want to see this.

Ryan's ludicrous substitutes for public town hall meetings coupled with your “funny” rating for this OP, will provide people of reason endless opportunities to have the last laugh.

You haven't said anything to prove Republicans are cowards; however, you have offered incontrovertible proof that Lib-nuts are liars. There is nothing in you link that supports anything you said. There is nothing to suggest that Ryan thought meetings were unnecessary because everyone agreed with him. You made it up. This is from the link you provided:

"I don't want to have a situation where we just have a screaming fest, a shouting fest, where people are being bused in from out of the district to get on TV because they're yelling at somebody," he said. Instead, Ryan said he would use "new and creative" methods of having a civil dialogue with constituents.

“He suggested planned tours, telephone town halls, office hours and employee town halls as alternatives.

“Republican rallies have been filled with protesters since President Trump took office, with footage from many going viral online.”

What is ruining town halls are the lib-nuts who bus in people to protest. Far too often their goal is to disrupt the meeting, denying actual constituents the chance to speak their mind.

Ryan made a good choice.

Bertram, you have never even attempted to debate me on any topic. BTW, when the TEA party was formed and started to attend town hall meetings? Agent provocateurs from the SEIU and dem party paraded around as TEA party members to disrupt any meaningful debate about the proposed ACA giving dem politicians the excuse to not have them. I am no fan of Paul Ryan and frankly he represents all that I despise about the neocon repub party establishment that is every bit as corrupt as the DNC....but here in lies the rub....at least I understand the game and stopped playing it because I know whom is really behind it. Suckers like you believe that you are just one election cycle away from turning America into a socialist utopia.

What is hilarious is that there is never a huge policy shift and the political party that is out of power during the midterms make all these incredible promises while they are feeding at the trough. Examples?

In 1994 the GOP wanted to make a contract with America if only they would be voted in....did they fulfill anything when they took control of the House and Senate? Fuck no....same business as usual. Fast forward to 2006 when Nancy Pelosi said we needed to drain the swamp and if they got control of the House and Senate that they would immediately end the war in Iraq.......did they? Fuck no...they continued funding it while attaching pork to the war spending bills

THEN in 2010? The GOP said put us back in and we will stop Obamacare!!!!! Did they? Fuck no....then in 2014 they said give us back the senate and we PROMISE you we will end Obamacare this time.....did they do it? Fuck no........now the GOP has the House, the Senate with a president that wants to sign it out of existence and even though this disastrous piece of pork-filled legislation is about to collapse has the GOP repealed it??? FUCK no...........because the powers that be want this because it has benefited them. How fucking stupid are the sheeple to not see a pattern and this same scenario plays out every alleged election cycle. SMH........
