So Obama used tonight's speech to repeat the Liberal line that Warren Buffet Pays less taxes than his Secretary.

Why is it he fails to point out that he is comparing Income Taxes to Capital Gains Taxes.

Warren Buffet Used his money, Which he already paid Income Taxes on, to invest, and he pays Capital Gains taxes on the Return he gets. Same as Millions of Americans. The Money they invest and Realize Capital Gains on, was all income once, and they paid Income tax on it at that time. Now they are paying taxes on it again, as they invest and get a return.

His Secretary is earning the Money for the first time, and paying taxes on it for the first time. Pretty cheap to slip dishonest, misleading Liberal Talking points into a so called Jobs speech.

Warren Buffett owes back taxes so he should pay his own taxes before he suggest that others pay more.

Aw, is this another hate thread...?

What gives you that Idea sweet heart? You have to hate someone to point out when they play fast and loose with the Facts on National TV?

Unlike many Liberals, I don't hate anyone. Not even the Opposition. Well maybe I hate Radical Terrorists who want to kill us, but not My Fellow Americans.

I think Obama is well Educated, well spoken, and from what I can see a good guy. I just happen to disagree with most of his Ideas, and in this case I think he should be ashamed for using that Line in the Speech. It is wholly dishonest, and Misleading.

I've seen him tell that lie several times now. It's as dishonest as it gets.

And wasn't it quite interesting to see him babbling on about corporations who take jobs overseas, while Immelt was sitting two seats away from Michelle.....The hypocrisy from the idiot is appalling.....Seriously, did he not understand how bad it would look even having Immelt in the building, seeing as what has happened recently?

Obama needs to go, period.

And it's no small change either that he owes. A billion dollars!

Indeed!

So, it was instructive to read in the Wall Street Journal on Aug. 17, in an editorial, that while Buffett pays 15 percent on his investment income, those investments were purchased with money on which he had already paid 35 percent in corporate taxes. His total taxes, the Journal estimated, come to about 45 percent, which is no doubt more than his secretary is paying.

I am sure he was counting on the Press to ignore Immelt being there. Just like they have ignored Immelt all along. He is just counting on Most Americans being ignorant about how his Jobs Czar Never met a job he didn't want to send over seas.

Yet another stunningly bad Political Decision from the guy were all told is a masterful Politician.

Immelt and Buffett take advantage of Pub deals for the greedy rich- not their fault, dingbat. tyvm

So it's not their fault? LOL, is it Obama's Fault that he chose Immelt to head up his Jobs Commission or what ever he calls it?

lol

You guys are hilarious, No matter how Bad Obama gets, you always find a way to blame the Republicans. Really pretty pathetic actually.

You do realize that President Obama probably is sincerely ignorant of what Immelt is doing with GE, right? At this point I really believe that his constant mistakes don't stem from stupidity but ignorance and a willingness to believe whatever his chosen advisors tell him. Which may just be a form of stupidity.

Uh, excuse me but, CM is spot on.......It's a sham comparison by both Buffet and Obama. Even Anderson Cooper pointed it tonight. And when a liberal, Obamabot loon like Cooper points out the absurdity of it, it's time you other Obamabots start dealing in the truth.

So, if you don't understand how taxes work, please don't post on how taxes work.

No, he didn't. Warren Buffet makes his money by investing other people's income, not his own paycheck.

In fact, the only "income" he's earned in the last 30 years was his modest salary at Berkshire Hathaway.

While that's true of millions of Americans, that's not true of people like Buffet - people who literally "earn" their money by trading stocks.
Now they are paying taxes on it again, as they invest and get a return.
Warren Buffet has paid "income tax" on less than a thousandth of a percent of his fortune.

His Secretary is earning the Money for the first time, and paying taxes on it for the first time. Pretty cheap to slip dishonest, misleading Liberal Talking points into a so called Jobs speech.[/QUOTE]

This is pretty much the most ridiculous spin I've ever heard.

Warren Buffet is being a bit dishonest when he talks about raising taxes on the rich. One, he can pay as much as he wants. Actually, since he doesn't believe in transferring wealth from generation to generation, he has a lot of money he can give to the treasury. Two, he really doesn't distinguish between the well-off, the rich and the super rich.

Besides, as has been pointed out, Buffet's taxes aren't income, but capital gains. If he argued that capital gains be taxes progressively, it would be one thing. But instead, he argues that the top tax bracket be increased on the wealthy, not capital gains (unless I'm mistaken). It's a bit disingenuous.

I'm not saying there isn't merit to raising taxes on the wealthy. I'm just saying that I wouldn't use Warren Buffet to support my point.

Warren Buffet has repeatedly, and vocally called for capital gains to be taxed the same as income.

Warren Buffet needs to get his business right with the IRS, before he continues with the lie about he and his secretary.

And, as you pointed out, he doesn't believe in transferring wealth from generation to generation, so, fuck him!.

He's just another lying, tax cheating socialist. Let him rot in hell.
