Another founding father bites the dust, Thomas Jefferson

Jefferson owned over 2,000 slaves. His plantation was a town, with black barbers, blacksmiths, wheelwrights, barrel makers, candle makers, potters, you name it. All of them working for no wages.

Slavery hurt the working class white man just as much as it hurt the slave. How do you compete with zero wages? You don't.
But so long as the southern blacks were slaves, they were not an econ threat to poor white southerners who were mainly subsistence farmers, who if they owned any slaves, didn't live that much better.

The vast majority of the southern soldiers weren't fighting to protect the rights of the rich so much as to protect the right to not have blacks encroaching upon them, or from having Yankees marching.

It's one thing to oppose statues build by the Daughters of the Confederacy to create some myth of nobility in slave society, and esp those statues on public property. But it's another thing to simply oppose any legacy of a man who championed individual rights, while living within the social morals of his time, and judging him by today's morals he was very, very imperfect in his personal life

The thread is about a statue.

Preppies' Pet Pit Bulls

Slavery was punishment. Humanoids who act like wild animals need to be tamed. They should have never been turned loose on us. And it wasn't idealism that motivated the race traitors; they knew it would wreck society. They wanted to destroy The America That Was because they knew they couldn't dominate a proud and prosperous White race much longer.
Except we are dominating you cuck boys. Lol. I love hearing you guys talk about racist things you're proud of from over a hundred years ago. Certainly can't point to any recent victories all you've been doing since the end of the last century is taking L's. Let's forget about your forefathers for a second, how does it feel to be the generation of cucks who lost everything they worked for? Lol.

Some in the north were simply emancipating their slaves after 1808.
Yes, but the emancipation proclamation didn't help slaves still owned in the North. It took the civil war amendments to the BoR to do that.

Jefferson isn't the only one who comes up short when viewed with the morals of 2021.

But he never argued the South was right and noble to secede to keep slavery. imo most of the founders knew this issue was not likely to be solved with compromise by reasonable people. And imo Lincoln's offer of not doing anything about slavery via the Fed Govt other than not allowing for it to expand in new states was as good an offer as there would be.

The economic costs may have been enormous but would have paid for themselves eventually, and any savings from not having a civil war would have also been considerable.

With so much to lose on both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line, economic logic suggests that a peaceful solution to the slave issue would have made far more sense than a bloody war. Yet no solution emerged. One “economic” solution to the slave problem would be for those who objected to slavery to “buy out” the economic interest of Southern slaveholders. Under such a scheme, the federal government would purchase slaves. A major problem here was that the costs of such a scheme would have been enormous. Claudia Goldin estimates that the cost of having the government buy all the slaves in the United States in 1860, would be about $2.7 billion (1973: 85, Table 1). Obviously, such a large sum could not be paid all at once. Yet even if the payments were spread over 25 years, the annual costs of such a scheme would involve a tripling of federal government outlays (Ransom and Sutch 1990: 39-42)! The costs could be reduced substantially if instead of freeing all the slaves at once, children were left in bondage until the age of 18 or 21 (Goldin 1973:85). Yet there would remain the problem of how even those reduced costs could be distributed among various groups in the population. The cost of any “compensated” emancipation scheme was so high that even those who wished to eliminate slavery were unwilling to pay for a “buyout” of those who owned slaves.

The Economics of the Civil War

Eminent domain was more ethical than a civil war.

The Monkey Cannot Grind the Organ

It's unnatural for inferior races to be supreme; this inversion of a stable and productive order can't last much longer. The First Reconstruction quickly went chaotic, so this one will at least collapse from within. But it is better to pro-actively extirpate the Loots Roots until it is all dead insect-saturated wood never to sprout again. Afram savages have been a malignant growth on American progress. All you will have in your Blue State union will be the leftovers tossed in the dumpster.

The South Had Slavery; the North Had Sweatshops. The North Had No Moral Superiority, Only Financial Superiority Taken From the Sweat of the White People the Plutocracy Hated.

We've wasted $20 trillion in Civil Rights for the Uncivilized entitlements on these useless and destructive people, so that should be added
to the cost of the Civil War or your eminent-domain scheme.
