I am not the one arguing that mob rule can remove the need for our gov't to treat it's citizens equally.

A state constitutional amendment is majority rule, not mob rule.

Citizen's are not treated equally in every aspect of their life.

Some citizens get specialized rights based on age, disability, veterans status, etc. which I don't get.

But if you were of that age, had that disability or veteran status, you should not be refused because of some other, trivial, reason.

If a polygamous spouse is recognized legally by the state, that spouse then retains all of the rights of marriage and divorce provided by law.

That would bring the more shadow plyg relationships into the open air.

Meh, not so much.

Spousal benefits are calculated on the basis of the earnings of the person paying in. Persumably, if there were multiple surviving spouses, they'd be dividing the same pie.
