An English pub chain in Ireland?

Cheaper than local pubs? JD Wetherspoon has 30 new pubs planned for Ireland, and it already has other pubs and big brewers frothing at the mouth

JD Wetherspoon and the battle of the beer prices

Well they already have furren beers there. True story...I was in a bar in Kerry when I asked for a "local drop"..meaning something Irish that was made locally. The barman gave me a Heineken!! (Brewed under license in a local brewery).

It is about time competition was introduced into the industry. For far too long, running a bar was a licence to print money.

i prefer an Irish pub in England!

There’s a pub round the corner from me. Owned and run by a Scotsman. Very well patronised, lots of Americans.

He must have the biggest selection of whiskeys l’ve ever seen.

And we prefer Germs that keep quiet and just take orders .

There are no pubs remaining in the UK
Six or even seven pounds for a pint . Equivalent to $500
