In a Republic, actually
"So that’s that then. The confirmation hearings are over and it is almost inevitable that Amy Coney Barrett will be confirmed as a supreme court justice before the November election. Barrett will shift the supreme court from a 5-4 conservative majority to a 6-3 super-majority, a move that could fundamentally reshape America. Goodbye civil rights, hello Gilead.

You’ve got to hand it to the Republicans really; they get things done. They don’t care about being called hypocrites. They don’t care about ignoring Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish that she not be replaced until after the election. They don’t care about common decency. They don’t care about democracy. They just care about power – and they will do whatever it takes to get it."

No, Republicans and conservatives don’t care about any of that.

Actually, civil rights will still be intact. This is the old fear mongering scenario to muck up reality.
She's a Constitutionalist, probably won't be legislating law, but interpreting the law. Unlike,
the liberal justices Kagen and Sotomayor.

To Marxists / Communists....upholding the Constitution is the ultimate travesty.

America lost to Communists in 1973 after losing 58,000 Americans.
Losing to Communists on the home land will levy a far greater price.

Thank God for Constitutional Justices.

Yeah, nobody cares about your feelings, Clayton. Feelings are a personal matter. I'm sorry that it took this for you to learn that. But it's just whuhevs. You know what they say, man. Every rose has a thorn. Just like every night has its dawn. Just like every cowboy sings a sad, sad, song. Every rose has a thorn. Yeah, it does.

Omg with the nonsense RBG last supposed wishes. Even if it were her last wish signed and video taped, that isn't the law and she doesn't get a say when she is replaced.

Secondly, she was a judge------if she wanted her last greatest wish of not being replaced and actual thought her wishes were somehow binding--------the old broad definately would have a signed and notorized request and video tape of such. She didn't ergo---the hole claim that she said such nonsense is a flat out lie by her granddaughter and the libs. It's total nonsense.

C'mon man! American politics is all about the W-I-N. You know darn well if Democrats were in this position, they would do the EXACT SAME THING. To me, a 6-3 Conservative court insures that America at least has a fighting chance against the advancing Marxist horde trying to "transform" it into Euro Trash.

And that's a good thing with how the Dems are trying to dismantle the COTUS.

What gives you the idea that a Republican majority SCOTUS would depress civil rights ?

Liberals are weird.

Interesting.. Defending the Constitution literally is the END of Civil Rights? Your most important Civil LIBERTIES ARE the Constitution -- specifically the BoRights. But Civil Rights? REally?

She taught lawyers how to work Religion vs Gay issues -- is the END of Civil Rights? Why? Seems to me they coexist REALLY THE BEST --- when the govt and the COURTS STAY out of that fight.

Same argument could be made for abortion actually.. GOVT created the issue. The SupCt said the govt CANT interfere in Roe V Wade. And that's the same story..

The whole religion vs gay issue really is about Cake -- isn't it? Or FORCING nunneries and monasteries to pay for contraceptives that you can BUY on-line for less than a dinner for two a month at Burger King...
