It is possible that a variant to the coronavirus behind Covid 19 could arise and be able to evade existing vaccines and if such was to occur and the variant was as deadly as the Delta variant or worse, America and the world's economies could be in grave danger, much worse than the original outbreak because publics throughout the world are much less likely to cooperate in stopping the viral spread doing things like masking and quarantining and their health care personnel are burned out the health care systems won't have the capacity to treat all the people that need to be treated. The fragilities of these economies from debt perspectives coupled with the super vulnerabilities of these economies from an inflation standpoint with supply chain problems that outbreaks of this virus cause almost certainly will result in these economies falling into a depression if there was a major serious outbreak that evaded existing vaccines. It should be a must, it should be non-negotiable that humanity and its leaders are not going to be irresponsible about causing variants here. The approval of the Merck anti-viral drug, molnupiravir, is an intolerable transgression here. This drug works by making variants in the coronavirus's genetic code through the viral replication process and this is very dangerous, it only takes one genetic mutation that can evade the vaccines to pass from a sick person taking this drug to a healthy person and commence its world-wide spread putting the world back at the beginning of this pandemic again. The way this drug works should be alarming to people what it does is targets two building blocks in the viral genetic code and during the viral replication process it replaces these building blocks with specific substitutes which puts the mutated virus in a state to mutate further as it continues to replicate and the cycle continues until it is in a genetic state where its can no longer replicate. Common sense would indicate that if this therapeutic process of mutating the virus until replication ceases and the treated person's immune system eradicates the virus from the person's system doesn't fully run its course these treated people could be incubators and spreaders of variants of the virus and with the countless viral mutating that will be going on with the widespread use of molnupiravir throughout our society it is only a matter of time before the world loses this variant lottery and we get a virus that evades current vaccines.
The harm that this omicron variant is causing on our society should be sounding all the alarms that the variant producing drug, molnupiravir, needs to be stopped. This rapidly spreading omicron variant is causing such a loss of workers throughout our society that even some hospitals don't have enough staff to operate they are having to shut down their emergency rooms, people don't like to hear this but this omicron variant is shutting down significant parts of our society by sidelining human beings needed to operate our society . The American people need to stop Merck from distributing this crazy dangerous drug, molnupiravir. The American people need to contact their members of Congress and say to them that they need to immediately pass legislation ordering the FDA to revoke the emergency approval of this drug, molnupiravir, and permanently prohibit the FDA from approving use of this drug. Further, the American people need to demand their members of Congress pass a law banning Merck from distributing this drug; Merck is an American pharmaceutical company so it should be subject to the American government's authority to protect the health and safety of human beings throughout the world from this U.S. Corporation!
