The FEC is deciding whether Amazon can buy / keep the floorplans data for millions of US homes, businesses, and offices collected by the i-robot vacuum Roomba.

Yes, it goes back and forth over every square inch of your house cleaning - so convenient...

Oh look, the kitty / dog / kid is riding on it in the video - so cute ...

Oh look, Amazon, like with that Lexa 24/7 monitoring bitch, has been spying on you and your family, collecting every bit of data in your home.

Not just your home...

"In 2021, iRobot reported that over 40 million Roombas had been sold worldwide since the release of its first model in 2002. The small automated vacuum uses sensors to map out each room in a home. If the Federal Trade Commission approves the deal, this stored personal data will be handed over to Amazon. The company has yet to comment on how it plans to use this data.

The purchase of iRobot is just the latest deal initiated by Amazon. In 2018, it purchased Ring, a video doorbell company. That same year, Amazon acquired the wifi router manufacturer Eero. Amazon recently offered One Medical, a health care clinic chain, an all-cash $3.49 billion deal. The purchase would provide Amazon with the health data from 188 offices around the United States."

Ain't technology wonderful...?

TOO FUNNY! Idiots buy these floor sweeping robots thinking they actually
clean your floors and they are actually spying on you scoping out the
layout of your house collecting data for others! :laughing0301:

Alexa, tell Rumba to scoop up that dog doo and then slam that owner with ads for carpet cleaner. Didn't come clean so now it needs to be replaced. Here is our best price on flooring for that 10 by 12 room.

That data could be sold.

Not sure why this is an issue. The general floor plan of any house can be deduced from an external examination. Furthermore most house plans are on file at the building office.

That's creepy as fuck!

But the most suspicious wouldn't get scared and/or paranoid without a reason to create more posts.

The worst thing Amazon is ever going to do is figure out ways to sell you stuff. Privacy is long dead. Capitalism killed it and then sold the means to snoop to any nation state with the cash.
They are into complete control of how to capture market share. They are good at it, like it or not.

It is how our socialist government will be able to determine if you have enough room in your home to house another family. You are selfish to own a single family dwelling...

I found a small camera in my Roomba when I took it apart to replace the brush assembly and install a new battery pack.
