Amazon is going to make "Mass Effect" into a show

"The Expanse" was good. I am surprised it is not even half as popular as "Game of Thrones".





Was it's vision of the future too cynical? Is there an expectation that any depiction of the future have flying cars and FTL spaceflight as well as Star Wars style space battles. Would something like "Mass Effect" do a better job at getting people excited for space and the future?
