What they saw was an unfortunate byproduct of the way we report preliminary results. It's a really bad practice and we should stop. No results should be reported until the vote counting is complete.

The probably with reporting vote count as they are counted, is that gives the illusion of a "race". It also doesn't help that we refer to it as a race, and discuss candidates as being "in the lead" or whatever. In point of fact, the "race" is over as soon as the polls close. At that point, one candidate has won the election and the others have lost. It's just a matter of counting the votes.

Intelligent people understand this process. They get that intermediate vote counts are meaningless. That it will depend on which votes are counted first. For example, in this last election it was widely recognized, by both sides, that more Democrats would be voting by mail that Republicans. And, for a variety of reasons, mail in votes take longer to process and it was understood that those totals would be added later.

But a lot of people didn't comprehend all that. They saw Trump "winning" when they went to bed, and then "losing" when they woke up. Given that Trump had already primed them to expect "cheating", that's what they assume happened.

Yeah. As impatient as I am to see the results, I'd certainly understand if we went to a system where we took longer to tabulate, confirm and announce any results.

As you say, what the Trumpsters don't know is that all the news organizations outside of their little world were saying all along that we could expect a spike in Biden votes late in the evening, because mail-in votes were being counted last. So this was no surprise.

Instead, they just believe what they're told to believe. And there is absolutely no reasoning with them.

Every state legislature should order an audit, all 50. Audits of elections should happen on a regular basis. When the USA Today audited the spoiled ballots in FLA 2000, they did us a huge service by outing the truth, that there was cheating, that it was the democrats who cheated, and the means of cheating was deliberate disenfranchisement of black republicans. Since then, FLA has had what appear to be "fair" elections.

There is no excuse at all for a state like GA with a GOP house, senate, gov, and sec of state to not have an audit. That in and of itself outs the top of the GA GOP as all total frauds, all "Jews masquerading as Christians" and pushed on the flock by preachers of the same ilk... All in on 911, all wanting Biden to stop trump and Barr from opening up 911... And all for a us war with Iran.

Every single one of the 35 states that returned both a GOP state house and senate was won by Donald trump, and it is those very same "GOP" state legislators who won their seats because of trump, as most who voted for trump just voted GOP down ballot without a clue...

Next time, in GA, think twice about voting for a "republican" named
