When they see what a mess we've made of our planet, extraterrestrials may be forced to take drastic action. Photograph: PR

It may not rank as the most compelling reason to curb greenhouse gases, but reducing our emissions might just save humanity from a pre-emptive alien attack, scientists claim.

Watching from afar, extraterrestrial beings might view changes in Earth's atmosphere as symptomatic of a civilisation growing out of control – and take drastic action to keep us from becoming a more serious threat, the researchers explain.

This highly speculative scenario is one of several described by a Nasa-affiliated scientist and colleagues at Pennsylvania State University(hmmmm...sounds strangely familiar) that, while considered unlikely, they say could play out were humans and alien life to make contact at some point in the future.

Shawn Domagal-Goldman of Nasa's Planetary Science Division and his colleagues compiled a list of plausible outcomes that could unfold in the aftermath of a close encounter, to help humanity "prepare for actual contact".

That's right...Space aliens!....As though we needed anymore evidence that "climate science" is populated by some of the battiest of moonbats...:lmao:

Where's the board busybody telling this one about the SEARCH feature.

If an Alien race approaches our earth, we will all be enslaved in KZs, maybe killed. Maybe they're even flesh-eaters.
The reason is not the atmosphere or what we're doing to the planet.

They come either to trade or to conquer. There is no other reason why they would come.
And for trade they won't come as they know, that humans are technologically inferior and they just can take whatever they want without giving something in return.

Crap,

Now I will need to add a lining of mirrors to my bunker to keep the lasers out.

Any way, if dem aliens do come, the Flying Spahgetti monster will come and save us with his noodely arms.

An Alien race swoops in for a closer look, takes a look at Obama in the WH, our unemployment, our credits rating and decides to call off their invasion.

When pressed for an explanation the Commander of the Alien invasion fleet responds, "These people are masochists. Look at the damage the guy in the White House has already caused! We could unload every weapon in our arsenal on them and they'd only beg for more"

Man oh man! You humans are so full of yourself.

Why would we want or need to destroy you?
You are doing fine at that yourself and will not venture far of this planet of yours for at least another century.
if you make it that long.

This really goes to show that these scientists will stop at nothing to push their globalist agenda...

"If not for us - do it for the aliens."

It's amazing how people buy this AGW bullshit...

They're so dramatic...

"you're all going to die - if not by drowning - by an alien invasion if you don't do as we say."

For the most part..I agree with this.

There may of course be benign beings interested in fostering life in the universe.

But using our various civilizations as a template..we'd be doomed if we encountered a more advanced species.

The Discovery or Nat Geo did a show on this.

If aliens come it will be for the protein and chlorephorm[?]
Why?
B/c in all our looking, earth is the only place it's been found.

What happens to the locals when a more powerful people find a valueable resource?
'nuff said

and that's humans doing it to humans. Aleins won't pause in doing the same.
