So if you think the Civil Rights movement was something in our past or that slavery was SO LONG AGO, remember this

The IMPORTANT son of one of THE MOST incredible women in history, Bruce Boynton...

Who died TODAY...

Was in his mother's belly when she MET A SLAVE.

Well there goes another "Robert E. Lee Blvd."

That's all I could come up with. I haven't had my coffee yet. :sleeping-smiley-015:

"I walked in Montgomery, I sat in Tennessee
Now, I’m a-ridin’ for equality
Hallelujah, I’m a-travelin’
Hallelujah, ain’t it fine
Hallelujah, I’m a-travelin’ down freedom’s main line"

Fuck you John Meacham. In your new book on John Lewis you have a 34-page chapter on the Freedom Rides and don't find space for "Freedom's Main Line" in a single footnote or in the bibliography?

J Edgar Hoover felt that the Freedom Riders were more dangerous than even the KKK, and he said as much to AG Bob Kennedy

"this doesn't feel like a freedom ride, i feel like i'm going to war, it may be the last ride i ever take", MLK bellowed at the time
