The US also left behind a large number of aircraft and other support vehicles. Surely we could have figured out a plan to get people and expensive equipment out before we let the Taliban take over. Who's that bearded guy flying that Black Hawk helicopter?

What we left behind was not equipment we would have used elsewhere and not anything close to "high tech".

The planes were all prop jobs.

That belonged to the AAF, and ANA. That was Afghan stuff. We removed all of our materiel from the AOR.

We have no idea what the terms of the peace accord that Trump signed with the Taliban.

When he agreed to release 5000 of the Taliban, he may have also agreed to give them arms and equipment to secure their nation after we left. . . we have no idea.

:dunno:

The terms of that agreement were not made public.
