Acquittal of activists shows public taking climate crisis âfar more seriouslyâ

Reverend Sue Parfitt, 79, Father Martin Newell, 54, and former university lecturer Philip Kingston, 85, became the latest protesters to be acquitted.

They glued themselves to the train and caused an hours delay. This has caused "outrage" amongst conservatives who are once again attacking trial by jury. However the idea that the tories have anything to contribute to a debate on law breaking is clearly risible.

The Judge told the Jury this.

Summing up on Thursday, Judge Silas Reid told the jury to decide whether the actions of the defendants and the disruption they caused was “proportionate” with their right to protest.

He reminded jurors that the motivation of the protesters was not relevant to whether or not they were guilty of causing disproportionate disruption to the public, nor was the sincerity of their belief in what they were doing.

Our government professes to take it seriously but really pay lip service to the problem, It is still seen as something they can kick down the road.The people involved in this are not crazy antifa types they are the fabric of the country. A lot more pain to come I think.
