Invasion of Teasury Department. Portesters breached the department and spray painted the area....they weren't trying to affect change to who is in power.
The white house thing occurred during portests against the Ffloyd killing. They weren't about changing who is in power. And the extent of that is that: Protesters hurled pieces of bricks, bottles and other objects at Secret Service and US Park Police officers who were in riot gear behind barricades around the White House. Protesters at times kicked and punched officers and wrestled over the barricades. -
Crowds protest Floyd killing and Trump outside White House
The 'firebombing' was this one?
about 30 individuals entered the Justice Center through the broken windows. The individuals spray-painted portions of the office; damaged computer and other office equipment, furniture, and interior windows; and started fires. Schinzing spread a fire that started near the front of the office by lighting additional papers on fire and moving them into a drawer of a separate cubicle.
A lot of this is people that are pissed at the George Ffloyd thing, not that they are doing things with the goal of forcibly changing who is in power.
Another example could be this -
Armed Protesters Break Into Oregon State Capitol Building, Break Windows, Assault Journalists, Hit Police With Chemical Agent
In Oregon, right wing armed protestors broke windows and stormed the capitol while the state legislature was in session. Legislators were debating Covid-19 restrictions and related public assistance in closed session. The only people permitted inside the building were members of the Salem Police Department and the Oregon State Police as well as lawmakers, staff and reporters. The protesters, many with flak jackets, military helmets and some carrying long guns with multiple magazines, entered the capitol building at about 8:30 am. According to Salem PD, “at least one of the protesters used chemical agents on the police…OSP [Oregon State Police] used inert pepper ball, while dealing with these protestors.”
Even that Oregon is no way near as severe as what happened on January 6th in terms of the integrity of democracy, and so it is not viewed as severe as what January 6th rioters did.
There are a lot more examples of right wing violence I could link to as examples of why those instances are viewed as less severe to what happened on January 6th.
Do you understand the difference?
