Early this morning I placed my flag into its holder. For the first time, it is mounted upside down and will continue to be flown that way until our Congress and President stop their head long run into socialism. My rights are being forced upon me by the government. My liberty is being attacked under penalty of prison for not excericing a right.

A line in the sand is needed. We have allowed decades of abuse of power by these lunatics in DC. Needs to stop.

Your rights are being forced upon you?

How does that work?

Don'cha mean that your rights are being taken away from you or sum'tin?

Not when your government says you go to jail if you don't take up the 'right' of healthcare. See how that one works?

Still seems that it would still be rights taken away, rather than forced upon you.

 It doesn't work that way, what Radioman said is more accurate, it's our right to choose that is being taken away, slowly. You cannot force someone's rights.

While it was poor wording, the message is still good though, our rights are being toyed with. ;)

I think we'll settle on that one. Thanks.

The simplistic view is that the government is using these ploys, toying with people's rights, to play us against each other, allowing them free reign. But until enough people wake up to this, we are powerless to stop it. But give it time, and soon enough people will see that our government just doesn't care about us anymore. Politicians are not really against each other, as is apparent with the recent events, they are working toward increasing their own cash flow.

Oh boy, they're using a ploy to toy, and they're not being coy!

I think the problem we have here is our own making. For years we have not paid so much attention to what was going on in Congress, and we have sat by just watching first one law and another get passed that chipped away at our freedoms. Seems like we have foolishly continued to re-elect politicians that were actually not any good for our state except for all the pork they could bring to the table. In the meanwhile, these politicians have all become "bigger than life" in their own minds and have begun the practice of not paying attention to what the people back home really wanted our representatives to accomplish for us or to prevent from happening for us. They all seem to have their own agendas. Now, it's clear the fox is in the hen house and it's going to be very difficult to drive that fox out. We all need to take a more proactive stance in what we are willing to allow our representatives to do. I just hope, for the sake of our country, that it isn't too late. We have already gotten to far along that path to socialism and it's time to turn back. We need to unite.

There is one thing you got 100% correct: We foolishly re-elect politicians.

Doesn't matter which ones, which mythical "side" they are on, the simple fact that they are politicians is what's important. ;)

You're free, it's simply the fact that you're not medicated which causes you to feel the way you do. Your condition is treatable: turn off the radio, Limbaugh and Hannity, et al, feed your paranoia and this will help. Then, go to your Dr., s/he is still you Dr. (no matter what the party of "NO" says - remember, the Republican Party represents the insurance (energy, drug, etc. industry, not you) and will be able to provide you with an appropriate medication.
Have a wonderful day.

Stand up and vote for the "nobody" ... seriously, from now on if no one voted for anyone who has a campaign then the message will be heard ... and maybe we can evoke some positive change. Find one that you like but which no one is "supporting" and write them in. Don't vote for a candidate with a party, don't vote for a candidate with a slogan, vote for the "nobody". ;) Then we'll see change.

You're a partisan hack moron ... but we already knew that. ;)

Your rights are being forced upon you?

How does that work?

You're never completely honest dwiddle dumb. Why is that?

Really? Seems to me that my rights are violated when I pay my health insurance and it goes to treat someone who shows up at an emergency room with neither insurance or money. Insured or not, everyone gets treated.

Still seems that it would still be rights taken away, rather than forced upon you.

First of all? One would have to establish the fact that HealthCare is a 'Right' by the very essence of the word.

It is not a 'right' nor was it ever addressed by the Founders. HealthCare is a Responsibility of the individual.

Where the term 'Right' comes in is the RIGHT of the individual to practice their choice without Government interference on any front.

And I think this is where the confusion stems between the term 'Right' and Responsibility.

The OP is correct in their assertion that his 'RIGHT' is being taken away to choose his own course by the passage of this Bill.

And with Liberty, comes Responsibility. The politicians in the District Of Criminals have muddied the waters as to the meaning of the two words, and it's on purpose.

I am an advocate for a:

"None of the above"
Vote.

Then don't pay it and don't get coverage. So simple even an australopithecus can do it!
