This particular email to John Podesta, who IS on Clinton's campaign team, is describing a response by Brock to a Sanders ad. The Clinton team feels Brock's response will do Hillary more harm than good.

During the primaries, Brock demanded Bernie Sanders release his medical records, and the Clinton campaign, by way of Podesta, told him to STFU.

It was David Brock, who is NOT part of the Clinton campaign staff. He runs a left wing SuperPAC that has been around for years.

The email is from one Clinton campaign staffer to Clinton's campaign manager (Podesta). The staffer is talking about a statement Brock made which the staffer felt was way out of line.

It's in the vein of, "With friends like these, who needs enemies?"
