'A death sentence': Critically ill patients denied transplants amid coronavirus outbreak

A lot of bullshit is going on. Laura Ingraham just had a fellow from AA on. In his state, liquor stores remain open as essential, yet Alcoholics Anonymous has been forced to close.

It's horrible. All of it. And the hospitals are practically empty while folks are dying of non-covid life threatening issues. Terrible. :(

The reverberations of this lockdown are going to continue for years. People aren't getting their cancers screened and treated early. They aren't getting their subluxations adjusted.

I know, lots of things aren't getting done. Even my grandkid's braces have been ignored. Part of the braces have fallen off and he's left with whatever damage is resulting. I can't even get in to get my glasses. I got a new prescription when the shut down came, and my old glasses "wouldn't pass the driver test" according to the eye doctor. Those are minor compared to the others, but when I think of all the others, I'm left just plain angry with all this.

It is and it doesn’t seem right.
The article cited that they did not even have a test that was 100% positive that they would not be importing COVID int their transplant center. It is sad, but dangerous. I have been told that having a transplant means you are put on immune system depressants and stay on them afterwards. Pretty dangerous to bring patients in, knowing that one of the biggest causes of post surgical complications is infections picked up in hospitals, especially if you are going to suppress their immune system. Very, very sad, but understandable.

That's bullshit you are spewing here. A sister in law got a bone-marrow transplant maybe 4 years ago, before this came down. They had to destroy her immune system to build back up, but she had to stay isolated in the hospital for a month after the treatment. Having a highly compromised immune system is something that medical specialists deal with every day . They don't "stop everything" when there is a new bug going around.

No, it is no way understandable whatsoever. When my son had chemo therapy for his transplant, no one stopped anything to ensure that he was not exposed to pathogens. That was our responsibility. You walked through the ER to get to the main lobby of the hospital all the time - full of sick people as was the rest of the hospital and many of those people had things far worse than COVID.

It is perfectly normal for an immune compromised patient to take the necessary steps to ensure they do not get sick because if they do they are going to die. It actually is not all that difficult to do even if the precautions are annoying.

Apparently they do now. I have not heard it is a government order. Maybe they are afraid of a worse outcome rate and someone suing for bad medical judgment. It isn't everywhere. My son picked up a transplant team at the airport for a transplant of some kind in our town just last week. I didn't even know they did transplants here.

Hospital were told to cancel elective surgeries and procedures, to keep their resources available for thousands of Covid cases. Lib governors said they needed field hospitals in Central Park, on a ship, in the convention center, as well as tens of thousands of ventilators. none of that was needed, but President Trump provided no problem. I don't think they expected that.

In any event, all of the non-Covid related doctors, your proctologists, pecker checkers, gynies, etc. are starving.

And because of that they had kazillions of available beds. Yet they still discharged C-19 patients to nursing homes. smh

There has been very little that has made sense in the last 3 months. We destroyed a large percentage of Americans lives to "flatten the curve" so hospitals wouldn't be overwhelmed and to save the old folks. What happened? 99% of the hospitals in the US were under capacity and the poor old people in Nursing Homes dropped like flies. And to top it off we are now laying off health care workers. What? Is this Bizarro world?

I do not remember anywhere in the article you linked where the transplant center in Colorado told the patient they had been ordered by the government not to perform the transplant. It appears it was a private transplant center decision. If I am wrong. Correct me. Your response just sounds like a republican rant to me. This thread was not about starving doctor, proctologist, "pecker checkers" (often called Urologists) or "gyneies", (known a gynecologist). Say, do you have any problems that aren't below the waistline? I hope you are using protection. The Liver patient and the lung patient mentioned in the article did not have problems of that nature. If you do get a chance to see your proctologist, hopefully your head will not be in the way.

this is horrifying
The transplant is probably unnecessary in any case. Even the ancient Greeks knew that the human liver, as long as any part of it is still alive, has the capacity to regenerate, regrow, and heal itself.

The omnivorous diet of the human species would be impossible without the regenerative capacity of the liver.

Doctors are murdering their patients by deliberate poisoning under the guise of practicing medicine, and they have violated the Oath of Hippocrates by practicing unnecessary butchery rather than leaving complex surgical procedures to those trained in the proper specialty.

"Trans" plant? You're planting medical marijuana and you're getting paranoid. No it's not a mental illness. It's a natural effect of the weed.

Some dude's got cancer and he's too hard to take a piss, and all the ladies are just dying to have sex with him? What are you smoking? And if these pussy-grabbing doctors are "starving" as you say, they've sure got some strange "appetites" — which is quite apparent already from the way they handle our babies.
This will be repeated TENS OF THOUSANDS OF TIMES. Thank your blue state governors
What the fuck? Did some of the Dems break medical Omertà and squeal on the healthcare scams or rat out the bad docs?
