A Christmas Carol was leftist propaganda fed to children for generations.

Ebenezer Scrooge was a good, law abiding, honest, hard working man that is vilified throughout most of the story until he becomes a good little leftist. Show me one law he broke, one dishonest deal he made. He was thrifty, except honest and hard working. He was not forcing Bob Cratchit to work for him. He even gave Cratchit Christmas off with pay and planned on working it himself. The man worked every Christmas day he was so dedicated to his craft, his company and his employee.

Ebenezer Scrooge lent people money when they needed it most and collected a legal amount of interest. They came to him. It was their idea. He provided a service at risk that they might not pay him back and he was part of the backbone of his community.

Then during the movie, he has some "awakening" and becomes some fiscally irresponsible scatterbrained fool and starts giving money away left and right. He was potentially jeopardizing the financial stability of his business. What would happen to Bob Cratchit if the business folded. His phrase "Bah Humbug" is actually the best response to Cultural Marxism.

Lol. This is a completely fucked up version of the story that you've created. I'm guessing you're trolling, and it's kind of funny.

Scrooge was a miser and a miserable fuck who treated people horribly. Upon realizing that he is going to die unloved and alone, he decides he wants to change and benefit others for once. And he does. The end.

It has nothing to do with socialism. It is a simple story about morality, love, and the inexorable advance of death. Yes, giving to those in need is part of it.

The War on Christmas comes earlier and earlier every year.

Give me an honest, hard working businessman like Ebenezer Scrooge over "compassionate" re-distributers any day of the week. Ebenezer Scrooge didn't even do business with you unless you sought him out. A Christmas Carol ranks right up there with Animal Farm as some of the worst leftist propaganda.

It is about a man who realized that he wasn't going to take his money with him into the afterlife, so he decided to spend it on people and things that mattered rather than hoard it all up for no good reason. Leftist propaganda my ass; that is humanist propaganda and a damn good, simple story. Dickens could be long-winded but he was a master nonetheless.

When we die, we no longer exist. It is as if we never existed at all, so it makes no difference. To think otherwise is wishful thinking and selfish. Why selfishly ask others to grieve to no avail. Let them enjoy their life, not pointlessly mourn the loss of yours.

Here is a poem from a famous story I once read that sums up how I wish to die when the times comes.

That no family or acquaintances be notified of my death, or made to grieve on account of me.
That I be cremated and scattered in the wind, not buried in consecrated ground.
That no sexton be asked to toll the bell.
That nobody is wished to see my dead body.
That no mourners walk behind me and that I have no funeral or grave.
That no one remember me.
To this I put my name.

Most people don't think that way.

He was a miser. He neglected his family. He was a miserable human being.

The story has nothing to do with "leftism". It's not about giving your money to Big Daddy Govco. He gives directly to the Cratchit family. He attends his nephew's party and becomes part of his own family again. He gives directly to charity. Remember, when asked about poor and homeless children, he says, "better that they die, and reduce the surplus population".

It's about his heart.

You have absolutely no proof that when we die "we no longer exist". You HOPE that is true, most likely, so you can justify your extreme selfishness, ie, Scrooge living before the transformation.

I see it a bit different; I don't consider A Christmas Carol specifically political. I look at it as a story of spirits manipulating an old man through sleep-deprivation and terror, to celebrate a certain religious holiday. When he simply wanted to be left alone. In every filmed version, Scrooge seemed a lot more delirious and insane after the three spirits, not before.

You would be too if you were visited by 3 ghosts in the middle of the night.....

Sometimes a story can be something w/o being propaganda.

Consider there are rich folks who take advantage of people. There are rich folks who don't.

So, how about we just call it a story. How about we don't declare Batman and Iron Man tools of pro uber rich propaganda.

I don't want anyone grieving for me either but...…..

during our lives we do touch others lives and that impact, may it be small or large, negative or positive has been made...that creates memories and those can't be erased.

All you can do is choose HOW others remember you......and that's what Scrooge did.

Scrooge was pretty happy until everyone kept telling him how miserable he was.

I guess Sartre was right, "Hell is other people".
