Well...about time...most would say--and a clear victory for those who have long agitated for such things..of note..this is not just a Blue state thing:

"The surge in higher minimum wages comes after years of lobbying and demonstrations from labor groups like the Fight for $15, which sprang up in 2012 to advocate for a living wage of $15 an hour. At the time, its goals struck some critics as far-fetched, but widening income inequality and spiraling housing costs are placing pressure on lawmakers to pass higher minimum wages.

Record-low unemployment across most of the country also has played a role, forcing employers to bid up wages to attract qualified employees. Late last year, Amazon raised its base pay for workers at warehouse operations around the country to $15. Even the conservative TV network Sinclair Broadcasting, after railing against minimum wage hikes in on-air commentaries, announced this month it would raise its starting pay to $15 an hour come December 29."

Listen to me poor people because I really do care (unlike democrat filth)!

You need to pick a trade that pays...go to a trade school...and then you will have the skills to earn enough money to keep a roof over your head and food on the table.

Some trade schools are pretty short...like heavy equipment operator or welding. Then you can learn on the job and acquire more skills for more pay!

Most poor would rather stay home and collect welfare and food stamps and watch the Beverly Hillbillies.Use tools and get their hands dirty?Aint gonna happen.

Forklift Driver is a well paid job. The IBM building has a forklift driver training school.

So, the prices to consumers will increase- that means less for those paying the wages- consumers.

Never fear though, the fed reserve and the omnipotents in DC appreciate spreading the wealth- all those numbers on a computer screen need to be turned into more fed reserve notes which actually decreases the value of that wage- LOL-

It is not really a victory for minimum wage workers to have the prices of extra value meals go up.

You know there is a difference between raising minimum wages and pay hikes. As you say, with the shortage of help and 1.6 million jobs not being filled, the "trickle" down of the tax breaks, liberals said wouldn't affect anyone, seems to have the opposite effect. There is no government forcing companies to raise their wages artificially, the supply side economics of demand is seeing more people entering the workforce, yet still not enough to keeps wages down. You can thank President Trump and the Republicans for doing away with the brown turd's and Demoncrats regulations and taxes that have stifled the economy.

Blame that on the liberals for constantly inflating the dollars with their reckless spending. Back in 1976 a McD's hamburger, fry and sm drink were 95 cents and minimum wage was $2.10 an hour. With the Demoncrats always pushing for higher minimum wages, today a hamburger, fry and sm drink are about $5.00 and minimum wage is around $10 an hour. Cost go up, wages go up, never ending cycle. Want to be paid more, get skills or and education. Stay stupid, be paid for being stupid.
