5.8 Earthquake in DC

Meh...5.8...go back to your business.

in DC. that might be nothing in California. But on the east coast it's significant. I mean when was the last earthquake on the east coast?

I lived in Takoma Park, MD (that's inside the beltway) for 18 years...was grazed by a hurricane or 2, a few blizzards...'77 or '79 I could climb up the snowbank onto the roof of our two story house...but I don't ever remember an earthquake.

I felt it in SE Virginia, we actually had to leave the building for a few minutes. You could see the building shake.

Work in the Reston/Ashburn area here near Dulles... nice little shimmy... Fiancee in DC on an upper floor... but she's originally from CoCal, so she's just laughing at the reactions to a sub-6-er
