Detectives have arrested 44 schoolchildren at Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate, in the ongoing crackdown on individuals taking advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to engage children in entertainment and partying activities.

The children aged between 14 and 17 years were arrested alongside their host, a 41-year-old woman identified by police as Millicent Kithinji.

Various brands of alcoholic drinks and bhang were recovered in the house.

“Already, officers have contacted some of their parents,” the Directorate of Criminal Invetigatigations (DCI) said in a statement.

The children told police they were from Nairobi, Kiambu and Machakos counties.

One of the things that I wish they did in the papers there is provide some interviews with the parents and even with some of the kids. Sex trafficking is an issue with shut downs.

Underage and drunk. They need to be detained and sleep it off or go to detox, but who is this madam?

A gang of kids like that isn't being sex-trafficked. Unless you mean boys and girls roughly the same age.

While trafficking may be an issue in some parts of the country, one that is a lot bigger is child and spouse abuse. With the shutdown, people have to stay home, which contributes to stress, which in turn contributes to abusers doing more abusing. They have had several stories about this problem on the local news here in Amarillo, and they state that the statistics for abuse are going way up.

child and spouse abuse ... abusers doing more abusing.
And if the gentleman isn't hard at work, he'd better be at the bar socializing with the guys, not with other women, lest he should be deemed unfaithful to his wife -- as if she isn't sneaking a nip of hard liquor at home on her own call whenever he's not around.
