This is a local and state level issue. The Governor is a Republican, but the senate majority is Democrat and Chicago has been controlled by Democrats for over 60 years. As much as I want the bloodshed to end in cities like Chicago its terrifying to think of what will happen if the Federal Government steps in. That's just to Orwellian for me

Have you stopped to think that these killings are NOT a problem? They have to be acceptable. Otherwise they would not exist and addressed with a wink and a nod. This has been going on for years under the approval of both the city officials and the citizens of Chicago. The second someone criticizes the killings they are racist.

Trump sent more feds there a month or two ago IIRC because of last year's dramatic spike in murders. I'm not sure how much that will help because Chicago has a notoriously corrupt police department and Democrat government.

What would really help is if the Democratic party collapses in the near future. That's not as far fetched as the Democrats here would like to think. The DNC has seen a huge drop in donations and they are likely to lose a gigantic class action lawsuit over rigging the election for Clinton.

Another thing that would help is if people stopped loving to do cocaine so damn much. But that's not going to happen.
