Who here has heard or read the book of Enoch? There are more than one, but the one most interesting to me is the pre-Christian Jewish version that has a strong Messianic message.

It is not certain about the city or place in which 1 Enoch was written, or its constituent parts were composed. However, it is clear that the work originated in Judea and was in use at Qumran before the beginning of the Christian period.

Information regarding the usage and importance of the work in Jewish and Christian communities, other than the Ethiopian Church, is sparse. It is difficult, therefore, to understand its exact origin. It seems clear, nonetheless, that 1 Enoch was well known by many Jews, particularly the Essenes, and early Christians, notably the author Jude (1:14). The earliest portions of the world originated probably in a proto-Essene milieu; the latter sections perhaps in the setting quite different from Qumran Essenism. It is also clear that Enochic concepts are found in various New Testament books, including the Gospels and Revelation.

1 Enoch played a significant role in the early church; it was used by the authors of the Epistle of Barnabas, the Apocalypse of Peter, and a number of apologetic works. Many Church Fathers, including Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Origen, and Clement of Alexandria, either knew of Enoch or were inspired by it. Among those who were familiar with 1 Enoch, Tertullian had an exceptionally high regard for it. But, the beginning of the 4rth century, the book came to be regarded with disfavor and received negative reviews from Augustine, Hilary, ad Jerome. Thereafter, with the exception of a few extracts made by Georgius Syncellus, a learned monk of the 8th century, and the Greek fragmants found in a Christian grave in Egypt in 800 AD, 1 Enoch ceased to be apreciated except in Ethiopia. The relegation of 1 Enoch to virtual oblivion by medieval minds should not diminish its significance for Christian origins; few other apocryphal books so indelibly marked the religious history and thought of the time of Jesus

Christians should take not that Jude references Enoch in Jude 1:14-15 which says, " Behold, the Lord comes with myriads of his holy ones to execute judgment on all. “The Lord comes... to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly acts done in their ungodliness”

This comes from Enoch 1:9 which says, "Behold, he will arrive with ten million of the holy ones in order toe execute judgement upon all. He will destroy the wicked ones and censure all flesh on account of everything that they have done...."

So if Jude is the inspired word of God, and he is referencing 1 Enoch, does this mean that Enoch must also be the inspired word?

Reading 1 Enoch, you would almost think you are reading a post-Christian work since it has such a strong Messianic theme. Here is a taste

46:1 At that place, I saw the One to whom belongs the time before time. And his head was white like wool, and there was with him another individual, whose face was like that of a human being. His countenance was full of grace like that of one among the holy angels. And I asked the one—from among the angels—who was going with me, and who had revealed to me all the secrets regarding the One who was born of human beings. Who is this, and from whence is he who is going as the prototype of the Before Time? And he answered me and said to me, “This is the Son of Man, to whom belongs righteousness, and with whom righteousness dwells. And he will open all the hidden storerooms; for the Lord of the Spirits is eternal uprightness. This Son of Man whom you have seen is the One who would remove the kings and the mighty ones from their comfortable seats and the strong ones from their thrones. He shall loosen the reins of the strong and crush the teeth of the sinners. He shall depose the kings from their thrones and kingship. The faces of the strong will be slapped and filed with shame and gloom. Their dwelling places and their beds will be worms. They shall have no hope to rise from their beds, for they do not extol the name of the Lord of the Spirits. And they have become the judges of the stars of heavens; they raise their hands to reach the Most High while walking upon the earth and dwelling in her. They manifest all their deeds in oppression; all their deeds are oppression. Their power depends upon wealth. And their devotion is to the gods which they have fashioned with their own hands. But they deny the name of the Lord of the Spirits. Yet they like to congregate in his houses with the faithful ones who cling to the Lord of the Spirits.

1 Enoch 53:6
Michael and Gabriel, Raphael and Phanuel (Jeremiel)(14) shall be strengthened in that day, and shall then cast them into a furnace of blazing fire, that the Lord of spirits may be avenged of them for their crimes; because they became ministers of Satan, and seduced those who dwell upon earth.

Michael HaMoshiach messianic verses:
Enoch 9:1; 10:11; 20:5; 24:4; 40:9; 53:6; 54:6; 60:4-5; 68:2-4; 69:14-15; 71:3,8-9,13 · 2 Enoch 22:1,6,8-9; 33:1&11; 71:28 (Recension J); 72:1,3,8-9 (Recension J) 3 Enoch 17:3; 44:10

The Lost Books of the Bible and the Forgotten Books of Eden is published by World Publishing Company and is widely available on the internet ... maybe two dozen extra "books" of the Bible all told, including The Book Of Enoch ...

Certainly some interesting reading ... containing additional materials to what's found in the Canon ...

Here is another reference to Christ

48:1 Furthermore, in that place I saw the fountain of righteousness, which does not become depleted and is surrounded completely by numerous fountains of wisdom. All the thirsty ones drink and become filled with wisdom. Their dwelling places become with the holy, righteous, and elect ones. At that hour, that Son of Man was given a name, in the presence of the Lord of Spirits. He will become a staff for the righteous ones in order that they may lean on him and not fall. He is the light of the gentiles and he will become the hope of those who are sick in their hearts. All those who dwell upon the earth shall fall and worship before him; they shall glorify, bless, and sing the name of the Lord of the Spirits. For this purpose he became the Chosen One; he as concealed in the presence of the Lord of the Spriits prior to the creation of the world, and for eternity. And he has revealed the wisdom of the Lord of the Spirits to the righteous and the holy ones, for he has preserved the portion of the righteous because they have hated and despised this world of oppression and all its ways of life and its habits in the name of the Lord of the Spirits; and because they will be saved in his name and it is his good pleasure that they have life. In those days, the kings of the earth and the mighty landowners shall be humiliated on account of the deeds of their hands. Therefore, on the day of their misery and weariness, they will not be able to save themselves. I shall deliver them into the hands of my elect ones like grass in the fire and like lead in the water, so they shall burn before the face of the holy ones and sink before their sight, and no place will be found for them. On the day of their weariness, there shall be an obstacle on the earth and they shall fall on their faces; and they shall not rise up again, nor anyone be found who will take them with his hands and raise them up. For they have denied the Lord of the Spirits and his Messiah. Blessed be the name of the Lord of Spirits.”

So if Enoch is a prophetic word that correctly points to the coming Messiah, and is referenced by Jude and many other Christians as the inspired word of God, why was it not Canonized in the Bible?

Well as I have said, it began to fall out of favor, but why? After reading much of Enoch, I have come to the conclusion that it was largely rejected because of its continuing theme that the rulers of the earth and of nations are wicked. They are wicked because they are for the most part oppressive and despotic. And looking at human history, it is hard to argue as most men have either been a slave of the state or forced to fight for the state.

So men like Constantine would have had a general distaste for a work that largely condemned world rulers like himself. And looking back on the life of Constantine, a man who continued to worship the pagan gods of Rome, a man who had his wife and son murdered, a man who used the power of the state to oppress others in the name of Christ even though he was not a Christian, it is understandable why he would have hated a work like Enoch that largely condemned him.

If there was no proof that Enoch was written before Christ, I think most would assume it was.

But since there is proof it was written before Christ even walked the earth, the prophetic predictions of the coming of Christ is astounding to me.

Enoch was truly one of the greatest of prophets. He was able to convert his entire city which was named Zion. Enoch and his entire city were so righteous that they were taken up into heaven. In these last days, Enoch and his city will return as a new city of Zion will emerge and they will unite together with the new city of Zion. You can read of these things in the Book of Moses in the scriptures of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

Moses 6: 21-68

Moses 7

This is all that the Bible says about Enoch

Genesis 5:18

18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:

19 And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.

21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:

22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

What.............wut? Nothing else about why God just took him, why Enoch was the only man not to taste death first?

Clearly one of the greatest mysteries of the Bible and this is all we have about Enoch other than the book of Enoch.

The little Leftist Hitler's running round seem a little thin skinned these days with virtually the entire population mocking them for their stupidity and control issues.

Plus most of them have no sense of humor about it.

I always found Enoch very interesting..Just to clarify Satan in the original Hebrew concepts was someone who was adversarial or stood in your way ( for example like standing in the doorway and not letting you pass)Thus becoming ministers of Satan would be those who have stood in the way of these original teachings and corrupting them by pushing a different agenda... These would be the “ fallen ones” because they ( Knew.. in the Hebrew concept)the naked truth but they corrupted it by “ fornicating” and teaching or messaging (evil angels or ev/angel/ist) a different message...These teachings or corruptions will eventually be overturned by whom the followers of “ EL” as each followers named is surnamed by this and the chief overturner is MichaEL of course...

It's funny the verse he posted Jude 1:14 carries a whole other meaning if they use a name instead of definition & vice versa define a name.
Enoch (dedicated)the seventh (Sheva) from Adam (man)

Enoch was not included in 'canon' because of its uncertain provenance, and because its redundant.

Constantine didn't decide what books were included in the canon. The books included in the canon were all well known for a couple hundred years before all those bishops got together, and there is no way they could have pulled off adding new ones or deleting ones they didn't like or rewriting anything without being laughed out of their own churches, nor would they have been intimidated by Constantine or any other Emperor; most had already been tortured already, the Christians of that era were famous for their willingness to die for their theology. There were some disputes, over minor things, and the book of Hebrews, and the Syrian Church opted for some slight differences than the others but that is hardly of any importance; the only real 'canon' is the four Gospels; the rest is merely histories and stories used to supplement the Gospels. The only books in the OT Christians need concern themselves with is the written Torah of Moses, and ignore the idiocies and fabrications of the 'Oral Torah' rubbish, for the reasons Jesus and the NT authors give.

Interesting that you should see that . It should be noted that according to Arabic scholers it was not Khofu Who is mistakenly identified that built the pyramids in Egypt but Enoch as the seventh or Sheva person from Adam or man and he placed Mica(EL) on the capstone or top of the pyramid giving us another piece of the puzzle ...
