The United States is doing far better than some will admit.

The chronic bellywhingers always find something to piss and moan about, but it could be - and has been - far worse.
Chip companies and supply chain partners have announced investments totalling $327 billion over the next 10 years, according to Semiconductor Industry Association calculations. US statistics show a stunning fifteenfold increase in construction of manufacturing facilities for computing and electronics devices.
The U.S. crime rate is still dropping, FBI data shows
The new fourth-quarter numbers showed a 13% decline in murder in 2023 from 2022,
a 6% decline in reported violent crime and a 4% decline in reported property crime.
That’s based on data from around 13,000 law enforcement agencies, policing about 82%
of the U.S. population, that provided the FBI with data through December.

Republican Jerome Powell, Federal Reserve Chairman appointed by Trump, continues to contend with global inflation, and the failure to pass Senator Lankford (R)'s comprehensive border security bill means that illegal immigration will persist as a problem, as the thriving economy, low unemployment rate, and rising pay attract more desperate families in search of work, but, overall, things are pretty damned good these days!

Many local PD's do not report crime statistics to the FBI, and the FBI fudges the ones that so.

Yeah, people are going to be stampeding to the polls in November, over computer chips and an absurdly inflated stock market!

DEI killed the CHIPS Act.

Intel is also building fabs in Poland and Israel, which means it would rather risk Russian aggression and Hamas rockets over dealing with America’s DEI regime. Samsung is pivoting toward making its South Korean homeland the semiconductor superpower after Taiwan falls.

In short, the world’s best chipmakers are tired of being pawns in the CHIPS Act’s political games. They’ve quietly given up on America. Intel must know the coming grants are election-year stunts — mere statements of intent that will not be followed up. Even after due diligence and final agreements, the funds will only be released in dribs and drabs as recipients prove they’re jumping through the appropriate hoops.

The FBI and CIA are organized crime.

Lol, I'm in Kansas and very familiar with that RWNJ rag. They can be counted on to tell the truth at least once a year. Twice with a republican governor.

Oh yeah, there are lots of energy sucking data centers popping up everywhere.

Oh sure they provide around 1200 jobs while being built (most of the labor is out of state contractors) but only provide, on average, 30 full time jobs upon completion.

In Boydton, VA, recently profiled in the New York Times, Microsoft recently built a large data center housing thousands of computer servers.

“People thought when Microsoft came in it would create jobs, but that’s just not the case,” said E.W. Gregory, the head of the local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union. Instead, they brought in outside technicians to do most of the work, he added. About 25 local residents got jobs, primarily as administrative assistants or janitorial staff, Gregory said.

The usual suspects are very pissy about the United States doing so well these days.

No surprises there.

Like the economy or not, its always better without Republicans in office.

And worse it will get.

Admit it, you would rather Trump be at the helm as it is bound to get worse.

Tax collectors from the IRS on down love them some inflated values and incomes. We still haven't had our "soft landing". We will see when it is business as usual. Right now, it still isn't.
