Grocery Prices FELL in April - Thanks Biden!

And YES, I have a problem with spending money we don't have on anything.

You have been on the forum since 2012, can you point out a few post where you voiced this problem when Trump was POTUS?

I've criticized every president and every congress on spending. And I've been criticized by both sides at one time or another. You're welcome to go through my posts. I'm not going to waste my time just to satisfy you.

.

Uh huh, SURE. Go peddle your LIES somewhere else!!!

BEFORE BIDENOMICS............When Trump was where he was meant to be...........

Pretty much ALL single snack items in stores were between .50 cents and .99 cents.
NOW they are all 2.50 to 5.00 each!!!!

Brand name, large bag potato chips were 2.99 a bag at their most expensive!
NOW they are $5.00 to $9.00 a bag!!!!

Brand named canned soda in a 12 pack was $5.00.
NOW it's between $15.00 and $20.00!!!!

Meat was around $1.50 a pound.
Now its over $7.00 a pound!!

Brand name cereal was around $2.00 per box.
NOW it's over $5.00 and more for that same box!!!

Ice cream was $2.00 a half gallon.
NOW it's $7.00 and more!!

And the "cheap" ice cream bars you usually buy during the summer, with the sticks in it....was around $3.00 or LESS.
NOW it's $6.50 to $10.00 a box!!!!!

The ONLY things that have NOT gone up that I've seen, is dry pasta, store brand canned veggies, and bread.

Everything ELSE has been TRIPLED or QUADRUPLED!!!!

What the FUCK does dropping prices ONE FUCKING PENNY do anybody any good????!!!!

Hate to break it to you. Finland is a socialist nation that spend 31% of its expenses on it Vs 19% in the US.

Oh, yeah, I didn't know Finland was socialist. I've only been watching them for years. Thanks for letting me know.

The difference being that their social programs are something they appreciate and culturally, they raise their kids with different attitudes.
Supply and demand drives business sure but rules of competition are what decides winners and losers. That’s all we are talking about.

And YOU WANT our government to set the rules of competition ?????

Not sure what to say about marriage other than it’s none of the governments Fing business. Staying married to an abusive loser or cheater sounds like bad policy.

Oh, but I disagree. The government has to respond to our poor marriage situation by doling out more to those who suffer because of parent stupidity.

You allusion to abusive loser is most likely a minor component of divorce. And if it isn't, we have a much bigger problem. Watching those around me, I see a great many who just "want a change" or "give up"

Overall, it is more a cultural issue and very much should be a religous one. But the government and taxpayers eat the cost of failed marriages in so many ways.

And let's not even begin to discuss the pandemic of kids born without fathers, whose mothers expect the government to assist.

Plenty more to say on the topic, but I'll leave it here for now.

One idea: Fix Marriage. Marriage is an economic efficiency. In many divorces, the woman and her kids go right to the poverty line. They still have "stuff", but they don't have what many of us have.

The Govt cannot fix marriage, it can only make it worse.

The Govt should not be in the marriage business at all.

Well well well. So grocery prices fell in April and are up 1.1% in the last year. Looks like corporations are learning that high prices slow sales and cause customers to substitute. Additionally now that supply disruptions are lessening we are seeing Food prices stabilize. I know this news will make the conservatives sad. They would like to see a bad economy but just can’t seem to find one. Thank you Biden for your stewardship on food prices.

3…2…1.. until someone posts low prices are killing farmers and that‘s Bidens fault too.

Grocery prices fell on the whole in April, according to data released Wednesday by the Labor Department.

Prices for food at home fell 0.2 percent in April, according to the Labor Department’s consumer price index (CPI), the closely watched inflation gauge. It was the first time food at home prices fell since April 2023 and followed several months of plateauing.

After rising quickly for most of the past three years due to supply chain constraints and the impact of the Ukraine war, grocery prices are up just 1.1 percent over the past 12 months.

Keep saying this stuff!!
Awesome!!!

Meanwhile Trump is leading Biden by 11% in - wait for it - Nevada!! Nevada!!

I do not give a fuck who wins in Nov. We are stuck choosing between being shot or being stabbed and you morons pretend there is a winning choice.

What a shitty way to go through life, suffering and waiting for the right person to be elected president to swoop in and save you.

My life will not change one iota come next Jan 21.

You might want to give that some thought

No
I don't have TDS.
But that doesn't mean I am a Trump fan, which I have repeatedly posted.
I wish they were both under the ground, perhaps we could get someone better.
But that is not the choice.

It is a choice, there are other people running.

But both sides have their minions so convinced the other side is so evil that the world will end if they do not vote for their chosen party.

We will never get better choices till you all break this strangle hold you parties have on you.
