Best Drummer Of All time.

Now you've gone and done it. Smitty was best known as part of Journey's most successful lineup that included Steve Perry on vocals, Neal Schon on guitar, Ross Valory on bass and Jonathan Cain on keys. After his first departure along with Valory in 1986, Steve pursued his Jazz roots with the fusion group he formed, Vital Information while still performing with Journey. In addition, he came under the tutelage of drum guru Freddie Gruber (who was notorious for tearing a drummer's whole style down and reforming them from the ground up) in the late 80s-early 90s. He, along with Valory, rejoined Journey for the 1996 "Trial by fire" album and was set to go on tour, but because of issues with Perry's health, Smitty wouldn't tour without him. Then finally, he rejoined Journey beginning in 2016, However, like deja vu, this time it was Schon that asked both him and Valory to part ways. This time over appropriation rights for the Journey name.

The following are my favorites.

Joe Smyth from the Sawyer Brown band
Brian Prout from Diamond Rio (retired from the band in 2022)
Don Henley from the Eagles

God bless you and them always!!!
