Rep Power: 10 | | | Bush's Other Failed War Worst. President. Ever. Quote: In Afghanistan, a deadly Taliban trend emerges
KABUL, AFGHANISTAN -- In the worst loss of life for Western troops in ground combat with Taliban forces in Afghanistan, insurgents ambushed and killed 10 French soldiers and wounded 21 in a sustained assault outside the capital, military officials said Tuesday.
Separately, militants made an hours-long attempt to overrun a major U.S. base in southeastern Afghanistan, employing an unnerving new tactic: multiple suicide bombers, three of whom blew themselves up in succession and three others who were shot by the base's defenders, according to a military official. French paratroopers killed when ambushed by about 100 insurgents near Kabul, Afghanistan. In a separate coordinated attack today, a team of suicide bombers tried unsuccessfully to storm a U.S. base ne - Los Angeles Times | |

Rep Power: 2 | | | Military commanders have been screaming for more resources since the war started in Afganistan but it falls on deaf ears. The only secure area is the capital. We can't seem to get anything right where our armed forces are concerned. We have the greatest fighting machine in the world and we end up being our own worst enemy. Unbelievable.

Rep Power: 43 | | | Certainly the worst POTUS in my lifetime.
I cannot think of a single area of American foreign policy or domestic that isn't in worse shape because of this Administration. |

Seems your maker played a mean trick on you when he put your ass where your mouth should have been.

Unbelievable. | The situation in Afghanistan is that the US and NATO forces are stretched too thinly to provide maximum coverage. While the alliance has not suffered any military defeats, there are not enough troops to make progress in all parts of the country.
More troops are needed to hold cleared areas. Eventually, the holding phase will be performed by the Afghan security forces, but they're not ready to carry out that task yet. In the meantime the need is for three additional brigades. Without this extra strength, civil development will be slow.
It's about time some of the other NATO countries stepped up to the plate and pulled their weight!!!

Unbelievable. | Because idiot politicians are the ones who employ it, and want to play armchair general and make decisions better left to the professionals.
And that would be idiot politicians from BOTH parties, not just the Bush administration.
