Actually, he was blown up probably by the Israeli Secret Service. Just like most of the plots that have been foiled todate.

Good police/intelligence work.

You don't successfully fight guerillas on a conentional battlefield.

You do, however, convince States that sponsor terrorists that they better stop or become a hell of a lot better at hiding the fact by crushing any State that does so.
