Zogby - Dem Congress Rating Worst Ever

If 46% approve of the Democrats in Congress and only 14% approve of Congress as a whole - that would lead one to believe most people don't like what Congress is doing but blame the Republicans.

Which means that most people understand the fact that its the Republicans preventing the war in Iraq from ending, not the Democrats.

actually, to really keep it apples to apples, the same ABC News/Washington Post Poll gives congressional republicans a 33% approval rating and congress overall a 37% approval rating, but the essence of your argument is absolutely correct: Congress's approval rating is clearly being dragged down by the public's comparatively more negative view of republicans, and there can be little doubt, given the exit polls from the last election, that the source of that negativity is the republicans obstruction of efforts to end this debacle in Iraq. It is sad that they are doing so, but, it will only mean that they will soon not be able to do so at all. There is little doubt that the public will turn congressional republicans out on their ear come 2008, and democrats will have the majorities in congress to end this foreign policy and a democrat in the white house who will be more than willing to oblige.

I like your attitude. It would be great if we had a 2/3 majority in each house. Then we could override any veto and expel any Republican member that we wanted to. We could even throw the President out of office!
