What we got is hope for the future. All North Korea got is promises too. If they don't follow through nothing changes, except maybe China annexing them and removing Kim from power. It's possible that we will end up disappointed, yes, but maybe you could be hopeful for peace rather than being outraged and hoping Trump fails.

I never said the U.S has gotten anything yet, other than hope. North Korea didn't get anything either if they don't follow through. I think Kim really appreciated that Trump was willing to respect him enough to meet face to face. How can we expect people to cooperate when we don't respect them enough to have normal diplomacy? He's even talking about visiting Washington now. This level of cordiality between our leaders has never happened before, not even close. North Korea is a country with a military that has nuclear capability. They are legitimate, and it's not unreasonable to conduct normal diplomacy with them. You really don't think acknowledging Kim as the leader of North Korea is worth his cooperation? That's very short sighted.
