You just KNEW it was going to happen...Oil Spill is BUSH'S FAULT!

Notice how the dunce Obama today made excuses for why his Administration has their heads stuck so far up their butts in regards to getting back to Gov Jindal's requests? The Moron wouldn't even touch the reporters other question which was "why have you guys not sent in Tanker Ships to suck up the Oil like they did in Saudi Arabia in the 1990's?". I guess Obama's political contributors would lose money having those ships actaully helping fix this tragedy. Fucking greedy pigs. Hope Obama enjoys his vacation while the entire Gulf is being polluted by his campaign donors. ~BH

How many "tanker ships that can suck up oil" are owned by the US Government?

Now, I think you should really ask yourself, "Why didn't BP send in tanker ships?", Since BP DOES own plenty of them.

As far as the leak itself goes, How many deep sea mini-subs with the necessary equipment to fix it does the US Government own? The answer is ZERO.

And if the government had bought or built this type of sub to deal with potential deep water disasters such as this, YOU would have screamed to high heaven about the waste of federal funds such a sub was.

The fact is, YOU have been complaining about government "interfering" with corporations for decades, especially where oil corporations are concerned. And voting accordingly.

THIS is the fruit of YOUR labor.

But now you're complaining because "Big Government" supposedly isn't stepping in fast enough to clean up the mess you and your buddies made possible.

That's rich.

No, I don't want the Government to TAKE OVER THE FIX. That would only put it on us Tax payers and then make them responsible for any further mess. Actually what I am saying is the dunce Obama needs to get his ass down there and support the folks in the area and show that he cares. WTF is wrong with that? What are we 36 days into this tragedy? WTF? He should have been down there weeks ago. They also have the power to pressure those assholes to get some tankers in there, and you fucking know it. ~BH

According to this New York Times link, President Obama is going to the Gulf tomorrow.

Following is from the president's speech today, I thought it was direct and impressive.

But make no mistake: BP is operating at our direction. Every key decision and action they take must be approved by us in advance. I've designated Admiral Thad Allen -– who has nearly four decades of experience responding to such disasters -– as the National Incident Commander, and if he orders BP to do something to respond to this disaster, they are legally bound to do it. So, for example, when they said they would drill one relief well to stem this leak we demanded a backup and ordered them to drill two. And they are in the process of drilling two.

And, the effort is bi-partisan. Lot's of talk in this thread, but few practical solutions to help.

So we'll continue to do whatever is necessary to protect and restore the Gulf Coast. For example, Admiral Allen just announced that we're moving forward with a section of Governor Jindal's barrier island proposal that could help stop oil from coming ashore. It will be built in an area that is most at risk and where the work can be most quickly completed.

It started with finger pointing at Bush, Haliburton & BP. Now that BP finally tests & finds out the "Top Kill" method is going to work to plug the hole then Obama comes out of hiding & says "I take responsibility. It is my job to make sure that everything is done to shut this down" Way to take credit after being clueless & MIA for 5 weeks.

"Out of hiding"?

Are you psychotic?

You fools were just complaining a couple of weeks ago that the Obama administration wasn't paying enough attention to Tennessee because he was paying too much attention to the Gulf disaster, but now he's been "hiding" the whole time?

Bull Shit!!! Obama has been hiding from reporters questions.

The White House is pulling out all the stops to defend oil spill handling to media.
The White House, continuing its effort to push back against negative media coverage of the government's handling of the oil spill, held an on-the-record meeting Wednesday between incident commander Thad Allen and several influential political columnists.

Among those on hand in the Roosevelt Room meeting were the Washington Post's E.J. Dionne and Eugene Robinson, the Wall Street Journal's Jerry Seib and Newsweek's Howard Fineman...

"I think they want to do what everybody in this city always wants to do: Get their side of the story across," he said. After a contentious briefing Friday at which reporters complained that their oil-spill questions weren't being answered, Allen joined Press Secretary Robert Gibbs in the briefing room Monday. Meanwhile, administration officials including Obama adviser David Axelrod have been hitting the cable airwaves.

And Thursday will be the next move by the White House to help shift the narrative: President Obama is scheduled to take about 10 questions from reporters at 12:45 p.m. Eastern. Just Tuesday, the Washington Examiner's Byron York wrote how the president hadn't held a formal news conference since July 22. "A lot can happen in 307 days," he wrote, "which is far longer than George W. Bush or Bill Clinton ever went between news conferences."

CBS News Radio reporter Mark Knoller, the press corps' unofficial record-keeper, agrees that the July presser was the "last formal, prime-time White House news conference...

"I've never seen a president as reluctant to engage in a news conference setting," said Compton, who's covered seven presidents. Compton said it's a "dereliction of duty" for a president not to address breaking news. The lack of formal news conferences has been a consistent gripe among the White House press corps. ...

The White House scheduled that July news conference at a moment when there was increasing criticism in the press about the administration's health care plans. Similarly, Thursday's news conference comes amid some negative media coverage, including concerns even among Democratic commentators like James Carville that the government is mishandling the crisis.

Yeah, I am aware of that. Only I thought it was going to be Monday, but maybe they changed it. It took him 38 days to give the people support down there? Can you imagine if it were GWB? ~BH

See, now that's where you folks went wrong with Katrina.

People don't give two shits whether the president is in their city or not. What they DO care about is that something is being done to fix the problem.

And besides that, nothing has actually happened on the beaches yet for the most part...

...So what are you suggesting, that he should have made a visit to the middle of the gulf and comforted the sea creatures? I'm sure they would have appreciated it.

Chris Dodd (Crook- CT), in an interview with Imus, actually had the temerity to blame the eeeeviilll and reviled BOOOOOOOOSH! for the Deepwater Horizon disaster.

Watch the hilarity HERE.

Have you lost your mind???

And it only took a month and a half.

Now if only there wasn't a complete double standard. then we wouldn't have to listen to liberals whining about President Bush's 7 min wait on 9/11

I see. Are you criticizing President Obama of not doing enough, or not making a personal visit to the Gulf of Mexico?

Please, play presidential aide with us. What would you have told President Obama to do about the BP oil spill?

Perhaps as far as Fox News and Breitbart are concerned, anyway.

Of course the term "Hiding" is completely relative in this case, and to them, and you, it means he isn't answering questions like:

"Mr Obama, why did you blow up the oil rig? We know it was you, so why'd you do it?"

or

"Mr Obama, since you're such a Nazi-Socialist, are you going to take over BP now? How do the British feel about that?"

3... DAYS... AGO. And he's personally heading down now. That's not to shabby.

What do you think Obama could have personally done down there? Waved his magic wand and made it all go away?

Hey StainMaker, Can you not read? I said for him to get some fucking Tanker ships out there to suck up the Oil. The Federal Government has the power to push BP into doing something so logical. ~BH

He could have *ahem* "put his boot on the throats" of the foot-dragging bureaucrats who've stood in the way of Jindal taking steps to keep the oil from despoiling inland waters.

But maybe working on his short game has been more important.

And thank you for admitting that your head was up your ass after you claimed that no marine life or beaches have been effected. I guess it took a quick Google search which also proves you like to talk out your asshole up until someone informs you of the facts. ~BH

Yep, Plus the Dunce wants to make sure he get's BP political contributions again. That is if they don't go bankrupt. Even more pathetic is how on March 29th Obama announced that The U.S will increase Offshore Oil Drilling. LOL!!!! This guy couldn't be anymore of a fuck up. Hey, Where is Al Gore?~BH

You mean that big $70,000 of donations the Obama Campaign received in total from BP 80,000 employees?

Wow, yeah, I'm sure he cares about that. That sure would have affected the 700 million dollars his campaign raised in the 2008 elections, I'll tell you what.

Doesn't matter dumb ass, Political Contributions are Political Contributions. So is announcing just prior to the disaster that he is gonna increase Offshore Oil drilling. LMAO! Where is your herO Al Gore on that one? Hell, where the hell is he now? = Frauds! ~BH

Dear fucked up shithead. It matters.

The company I work at gave to John McCain. But the employees held fundraisers, bundled that money together and gave to Obama.
So did the company give twice?

Of course not.

The company gave to McCain because the CEO thought Republicans would take care of the company over the employees.

But the employees gave to Obama. Only it's listed as coming from the company. Same with BP.

Does everything have to be explained?

The fact that Bush went to New Orleans didn't help the situation at all. That was in fact part of the criticism of him at the time, that instead of sending help, he just visited.

Again, how many Tankers does the US Government own?

Why isn't Exxon Mobil lending a hand? Or Shell? They've got LOTS of oil tankers, and lots of equipment for situations like this too.

What happened to "the market will take care of itself"? What happened to your "free market" principles? They just go out the window when corporations need someone to clean up their mess?

Indeed, it does matter.

The average donation by an American citizen in the 2008 elections to the Obama campaign was $2.

BP has 80,000 individual employees. Do the math.

Now, I know that most of BP's employees aren't Americans, but a good portion of them are. So, if, say 30,000 of BP's employees are Americans, then the employees individually gave AVERAGE donations, the same as any other American Citizen.

Good try to divert the conversation though.

It's not what Bush did with Katrina, it's what he did afterwards:

Keep up the all politicians suck, non-partisanship schtick, it seems to be working so well for you.
