"You can't be a democrat and go to heaven"

Does fine by me, it's just you people who want to outlaw everything that is fun or naughty in your view that has a problem with it.

pornography has been a bone of contention for some time now....

just because you have the right to it does not mean you have the right to make the rest of us...including children.....be exposed to your filth and depravity via every media outlet possible...

Not a big porn consumer so you will not hear me really defending it but I do not see it unless I go looking for it, your idea of porn must be somewhat different than mine.

it's even being actively pushed in the schools by the secularist ACLU....

“School districts shouldn’t be bullied into exposing students to sexually explicit materials,” said ADF Senior Counsel David Cortman. “The ‘Don’t Filter Me Initiative’ would be better named the ‘Public School Porn Initiative.’ That’s because the ACLU is pushing its radical sexual agenda for children by intimidating school districts with a long string of scare tactics disguised as a concern over censorship. In truth, these school districts have no obligation to cave to the ACLU’s unwarranted demands. Our children come first.”

That's pretty much the attitude I had here, I do feel there should be any forbidden topics in school as long as all sides are examined critically. Unfortunately critical thinking itself has come under attack as a teaching method in many republican ran school districts, most notably in Texas where it has been abandoned so as not to endanger the ability of parents to fill their children's heads with bullshit and never have to worry that they might find out different at school.

Because we yet in a lather about Persians who kidnap our embassy personnel, shoot their own people dead in the street for protesting against the theocracy, and are in pursuit of nukes of their own.

Bad enuff that is that there: the closer danger is the establishment of Sharia Christianity here.

Regards from Rosie

Sharia Christianity? What in the fuck is that?

Republican school districts? It seems that it's the democrats that have a big case of butt hurt feeling over that comment.

Is that supposed to be some kind thing that would convince me of your position? Porn is blocked from every school network in the country and you have the option to block it from your home network, no one wants to make kids look at porn but some schools go a lot further and block things that make no sense such as political sites that might teach them to think for themselves.

Right wingers imagine heaven, but you only have to look at God's work to know how wrong they are. First, God gives the gays the most talent. Who do you want to spend eternity with? Humorous people with talent and a fabulous sense of decor or right wingers with that crappy Christian Music and that irritating twang.

That may be but personally I am not so reactionary, I do not feel I have enough information to tear into anyone over this, If the full story was known I might feel differently. In the comment you replied to I was lamenting the death of critical thinking as a teaching method, when kids have a strong basis in that no idea should be out of bounds because no one is liable to take anything they hear as the final answer, I was displaying my own critical thinking to the story rather than flying off the handle.

Dems always have a fit whenever and wherever religion appears in public......

No you are pissed that we tend to leave the teaching of morality entirely up to parents, It should not be the school's duty to teach that and it is especially not their job to reinforce whatever bull you decide is correct for you. If your kid turns out to be a sinner in your eyes it is your failure, don't blame it on society, the world has always been a slime pit and no amount of official indoctrination in addition to your own personal indoctrination can change that.

NO....i'm PISSED that the SECULARIST ACLU is trying to stuff PORN into the faces of schoolchildren....

They are not so you are pissed about nothing. The ACLU project you are so pissed about has nothing to do with porn and everything to do with schools blocking certain political content from view.

The evangelical heretics in Texas do not want their children exposed to critical thinking techniques because faith issues are reduced to untenable propositions.

I gather the state two-year institutions are all committed to critical thinking, thus repairing much of the limitations of public high school as well as home schooling in that state.

in general Christians have been quite tolerant toward liberals and their secularist viewpoints.....however over time that has changed as more and more realize the tolerance is NOT reciprocated....even your post demonstrates this hateful negative bias....

Your kind earned every bit though your efforts to turn the wall of seperation into a one way door to christian domination of secular policy.

the "wall of SEPARATION" never existed.....Thomas Jefferson was very religious in public life....

Don't know much about Jefferson, do you? There were three things he was most proud of in his life....laying the framework for the DOI, Founding the University of Virginia, and accomplishing the concept of SEPARATION of church and state in Virginia....which was adopted into our US Constitution.

As far as Dems getting into heaven or not? Guess we'll see....The whole reason I AM a Democrat is because of my Christian beliefs....
I don't believe that greed is "good". I don't believe that our corporate structure is made up of good, honest people who are just trying to earn a living....I believe that they are, by and large people that would run over a person in a wheelchair if it would make them richer, let alone paying their labor a wage that is capable of raising a family in this day and age.

They are the epitome of greed and avarice....you guys can sit there and tell me how much they give to charity(conveniently tax deductable, of course) and tell me how good of Christians they are....but if they are Multi-billionaires, the top of their employee food chain are millionaires and multi-millionaires, and their Mainstream employees can't make it without government assistance.....they aren't doing right by those people or by God's standards.

I believe that society is measured by how it treats it's weakest members. I believe that all people sin, and those sins are between the individual and God. I believe that when those sins don't hurt society at large....they should remain between the sinner and God. I believe that God loves us all....and it's OUR insecurities, our limited intellect and knowledge, and the fact that we can't look into other people's hearts(like God can) that makes us prone to judging one another, hating one another, and demonizing one another.

Yes, I know....I just did that in my previous paragraphs when talking about the Conglomerate.....like I said...we all sin.....but I didn't say they were going to hell, did I?

“The materials that the ACLU wants children exposed to is sexually explicit enough that just mentioning them in an e-mail to adult district officials triggers an ‘offensive content’ filter,” said ADF Legal Counsel Jeremy Tedesco. “The ACLU cannot mask its attempts to turn school computers into porn portals for children with a supposed concern for censorship. Parents expect schools to be places where their children learn--not places where they access pornography.”

"they are not".....is that all you got to say....? ....another liberal in denial....

i've provided you with a link for proof......where's yours....?

Hmmmmmm.

Last month, South Carolina teacher Laurie Humphrey was removed from the classroom for a sign placed in her classroom that read, "The road to hell is paved with Democrats."
