Why do right wing Christians get in such a lather about liberals? Never was that much animosity until the moral majority came along. I prefer to use the term "right wing Christians" rather than just "Christians" because not all of them are engaged in the fight to take over conservative American politics. The whole story is not presented so I am not going to jump all over anyone about this particular incident, it says it was a student comment during a discussion of politics and I really do not have an objection to the free discussion of any idea in school. I do have a big objection to people getting their religion and politics so tightly entwined that they are inseparable.

Yes, supposedly a student made that comment, but I question whether the teacher should have written it on the board. Sadly, some religious righties actually believe such nonsense.

It didn't say if the teacher actually believed it or really fill us in on any details so I am not going all reactionary on her but theocrats do stalk the halls of power in small town America and they just cannot be allowed to infect young students with a dangerous dogma that skepicism of the powers that be is a sin.

There will never be a national religion. It would be unconstitutional. No religion will be banned. That would be unconstitutional, too.

But secularists and athiests are well within their rights when pressuring theists to keep their religiosity in their churches and homes.

The First Amendment restricts what government can and cannot do...but not individuals and groups of American citizens.

Not really but that is beside the point, you like the part where the government cannot touch your organizations through regulation or taxation but hate the part that says that your organization cannot directly be a political organization. You want to be protected from secular authority as usual but you do not want secular authority to be protected from you, you do not want the rest of the country to enjoy freedom FROM your twisted ideas of morality.
