You cannot help the poor by giving more tax cuts to the rich

Feel free to post your critique, "counselor."
Clinton benefited from the end of the Cold War, the peace dividend, and the tech boom. He left the country in a recession.
Bush had one of the longest peace time expansions in post war history. Unemployment never rose much above 6% and inflation never about 3%. How does that stack up to Obama's record?

Bush handed Obama the worst economy since FDR yet you are trying to tout his record and use the guy trying to clean up his mess as a comparison.

lo fucking l

What a maroon.

Hmm. When Bush left office unemployment was under 8% and gas prices were somewhere about 2.00. Under Obama, even 3 years later UE has not dropped below 9% and gas prices have been over 3.00.

Maybe you're the one who needs a brain?

Nope. I'm fine.

You remain clueless.

Well if everyone paid the same tax rate, a poor person making say 20,000 dollars a year taxed at a rate of say 19% loses more of his money than a person who makes 100,000 dollars paying the same rate.

19% of 20,000 is $3800. 19% of 100,000 is $19,000

$19,000 > $3,800

You think things are better under Obama than Bush even though every metric shows otherwise?
No, you're the clueless one here.

Bush left Obama DEEP in a recession, with a 458 billion dollar deficit, and a tax structure that couldn't even pay the bills at the height of economic expansion under Bush. Bush's economy was also propped up by trillions of dollars worth of deficit spending AND the real estate boom.

For those on the Right who think Obama and the Democrats should have done NOTHING when they took power in 2009,

please.

Doing nothing would have been better that what he did. This is the slowest recovery from a recession we have ever had. Long slow recoveries are what we normally call "depressions."

If Bush and Obama had simply gone and played golf for 4 months the country would be much better off.

I refer you back to my original post to you in this thread.

1.1 trillion in tax cuts since the recession began, the MOST in stimulative-intended tax cuts in history,

and we have the slowest recovery ever?

Hmmm.

There have been no tax cuts since the recession began.

You're retarded.

The stimulus had 288 billion in tax cuts. The 2010 tax bill had 800 billion in tax cuts. Bush's 2008 stimulus bill had 80 billion in tax cuts.

If Obama had 'done nothing' every Republican in the US would have attacked him for doing nothing, and ran on it in 2010. And won 100 seats in Congress AND the Senate.

Don't try to bullshit people who know better.

The bad part for those who voted those repugs in is that they're blocking policies for recovery for the sake of the facking rich, not for those that voted for them, Repugs have yet to explain or come up with a plan that helps those that voted for them.

It's amazing how facts like these get no traction in today's political climate.

Well by Teabagger reasoning Bush is a facking Socialist and Obama is a capitalist, but they still don't like him could it be his r---?

Simple common sense, this have never happened in history. Repug thinking...snooze!!!!!

UPDATE: Diamonddave negged repped this post and called me an idiot, but only an idiot would think that giving the rich tax cuts would help the poor. he's clearly not playing with a full deck.

No one helps the poor by taxing the rich to begin with.

People help the poor by giving freely of their time, talents, and money. A rich man could pay 100% taxes or .1% in taxes, or anything in between, and it wouldn't effect my ability to help the poor whatsoever.

I don't see how enslaving the poor to politicians who give them hand outs is helping the poor. Nor to I see how encouraging ingratitude, pride, vanity, idleness, and sloth in the poor helps them either.

It seems you want to throw other people's money at the poor to make them go away instead of actually making an effort to help them. It's a shame. You could do much good.
