Shoveling the ashes
i think they will be taught a lesson when they are voted out

An update: Energy Department spokesman Dan Leistikow added: “Secretary Chu was not comparing the public to teenagers. He was saying that we need to educate teenagers about ways to save energy. He also recognized the need to educate the broader public about how important clean energy industries are to our competitive position in the global economy. He believes public officials do have an obligation to make their case to the American people on major legislation, and that’s what he’s doing.”

The man isn't a politician by the way. I mean, he only won a Nobel Prize in Physics so he obviously has no clue what he is talking about.

He's also an advocate of Nuclear Power. He was also fully confirmed without any other problems from the Senate.

The man knows what he is talking about.

Then let him and the administration teach you a lesson for acting like an unruly teenager.
He said what he said, then tried to back-pedal out of it.

Steven Chu: Americans Are Like ‘Teenage Kids’ When It Comes to Energy - Environmental Capital - WSJ

snip,
When it comes to greenhouse-gas emissions, Energy Secretary Steven Chu sees Americans as unruly teenagers and the Administration as the parent that will have to teach them a few lessons.

Hey Mr Chu, the government isn't my parent and you can just fuck off!

Agreed. From the Article:

Asked if he expected a town-hall style pushback, Dr. Chu said he was optimistic the public would buy the administration’s arguments that energy efficiency and caps on greenhouse-gas emissions will spark an economic rebound.
“I don’t think so…maybe I’m optimistic, but there’s very little debate” that a new green energy economy will bring economic prosperity, Mr. Chu told reporters. "

Imposing an economic policy on a proven failed premise?

Perhaps this ASSHOLE should take up Astronomy?

Sunspots (or lack of them): 4 days to 100-year record

Pehaps this moron should understand that it is the SUN that is responsible for weather/Climate on this planet?

And perhaps he sould tell us what the real INTENT is? And that is to control people's behaviour in which they don't like, and blame the Weather for it?

Folks? This arguement has been won. And it isn'r by the Statists. they just refuse to acknowledge that the SUN, and other factors control Climate.

Man's activities are minor, and do NOT control what is going on. Never has, never will. The Earth is reacting to the SUN.

 I don't hero worship, all I did was state facts. Sorry they don't jive with your whole "Obama's a socialist" spiel.

The man's a scientist, he won a nobel prize, and he's an advocate of Nuclear energy. He also got fully confirmed by the Senate with no problem.

If you seriously don't think America doesn't ever indulge in excess then you don't know America since excess and beyond is becoming more and more of an American ideal.

Oh, he wona Nobel Prize.
Yassir Arafat won a Nobel Prize. Al Gore won a Nobel Prize. Jimmy Freakin Carter won a Nobel Prize.
It doesn't make him an expert on every issue.
And on this issue he is probably perfectly in sync with an administration that has nothng but contempt for the American people, and shows it daily.

Oh wow, it only took 8 posts to bring up the Nobel Peace Prize. Physics isn't one they just don't hand out like candy.

Next half-ass attempt!

Wow, you're really thick, aren't you.
Let me type slowly: winning a Nobel Prize in ANYTHING does not make you in expert in EVERYTHING.
It certainly doesnt give you the right to call the people who pay your salary teenage kids.

Did I ever say that winning a Nobel Prize in ANYTHING makes you a expert in everything? No.

However, you seem to want to make him less of a scientist because he won a Nobel Prize.

And I also never said it gave him the right to call anyone teenage kids. However, I would like to see the comments in full context.

Personally, I don't care if he is a scientist or a priest or anything else, to indicate that the government needs to treat me like an "unruly teenager" is pure bullshit. And he is part of the government at this point. The government is not my mommy or daddy, I don't need them "teaching me a lesson", nor taking care of me.

Has anyone here disparaged his achievements as a scientist? No.
Are we objecting to his political statements? Yes.

Chu can get on the bus with all the other environmental kooks. While they are up there trying like crazy to keep the ice from melting maybe they can save a few whales in the process. When they are done with that hug a few trees. What a load of bullshit. Chu and Al Gore are probably in the same "Rump Ranger" social club.

You haven't learned your lesson yet, have you?
Do we have to send you to a re-education camp?
