The Russians surely must have some very bad dirt on Trump, because why else would Trump sell weapons to Georgia and Ukraine (which Obama refused to do), slap tariffs on Russian steel imports, nix the Iran nuke deal (a deal that Russia strongly supports), expel over 60 Russian diplomats, shut down a Russian consulate, condemn Moscow for poisoning Russians in Western countries, push NATO nations to spend *more* on defense, extend Obama's sanctions on Russia and impose new sanctions, push Germany to cancel the Russian-German pipeline deal, boost U.S. defense spending by tens of billions of dollars, etc., etc. Yeah, the Russians must have some really bad dirt on Trump!

In an editorial published today at The Federalist.com, former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili says that Trump's anti-Russian actions speak louder than his gaffe on Russian meddling, and that Trump is much tougher on Russia than Obama was:

Just Like Obama, Trump’s Russia Policy Speaks Louder Than His Words

They are not happy until Trump initiates the Shillary plan: War against Russia.

Think about it, proud Christians are allowed to freely build up a nation in Russia. This is unacceptable.

Trump has spoken with nothing but admiration for Russia and it’s leader. He has been forced into taking action against his own will by being presented with irrefutable evidence of their crimes, such as when congress unanimously voted to force him to enact sanctions. Trump waited until the last possible day to comply, railing against it the entire time. He has done nothing to harm Russia, and everything to legitimize their crimes.

Which crimes would that be?

Sabotaging the election, invading Ukraine, murdering British citizens with chemical weapons, ongoing cyber warfare, etc. Have you been living under a rock? Good god, man.

Maybe in your parallel universe, but not here on Planet Earth.

All accusations. No conclusive evidence. So what's new?

Do you disagree that an alliance with Russia would serve our mutual interests -- especially where increasing conflict with the Islamic world is concerned?

Absolutely not. Russia would just exploit our idiot President. And I don’t know what they’re supposed to do about conflicts in the Muslim world since we are the ones who started them all.

Yeah, amazingly enough it doesn't hurt us to flatter pootin. It does hurt pootin to arm the nations around him though. Something that your hero, the obummer would never do, trump has done. Actions speak much louder than words. trumps ACTIONS are anti russia. obummers ACTIONS were pro pootin.

But we already knew that...didn't we...

Yeah, can you imagine if Trump had done what Obama did--promise to gut our missile defense after the election? Which is what Obama did, by the way.

Does this mean those who are defending detente are now mad at Trump?

When do people start defending principles and stop defending a man with no principles?

We defend him BECAUSE of his principles--principles like trying to make peace through strength, letting people keep more of their own money, appointing judges who will follow the Constitution, easing the regulatory burdens on our companies so they can grow and hire more people, defending basic rights like freedom of religion and freedom of speech, etc., etc.

Obama tried to sabotage the Israel election, Of course you didn't care about that one.

I said detente.
Peace thru strength is the opposite.
You don't have a rebuttal I take it.

We do not have detente with Russia.........we have had escalating tensions in the Middle East.....and the Ukraine.............

So we have Peace thru strength.......attack one of ours and you will deal with us...........

Same as it was back in the day in the Cold War......except Russia is no longer the power house it was back then.

Given this.......I would remind everyone that Russia assisted us in our operations in Afghanistan......allowing us to operate in their country if you have forgotten.

Doesn't change that they support countries like Iran.......

HUH??? How is peace through strength the opposite of detente? You achieve detente by being strong enough that your potential enemy would rather not risk a war with you. If your enemy thinks he could defeat you with little cost, you'd better hope your enemy is not aggressive and predatory.

The Romans were willing to negotiate with the Persians because they decided that the cost of an all-out war with Persia would be too high. The Soviets invaded Afghanistan because they thought it would be easy pickings. They did not invade Pakistan because they feared the cost would be too high.

Such a typical Trumpster response. Try getting your news from a source other than Faux News, and you might learn something.

Watching CNN I would have learned many things that didn't happen indeed.
