We have one of the highest infant mortality rates in the western world due to our stinking medical system, we let babies die all of the time for lack of decent prenatal care and yes we do allow terminally ill babies to die with only palliative care and always have.

And the parents have nothing to do with it? There are so many programs, both state and federal, to ensure children get their shots and healthcare. I have known parents who just don't take their children in for shots.

We have the largest portion of people on the doles and some of them won't do squat unless government tells them to and then makes it easy for them to do it.

While being poor makes everything in life more difficult, you'd think people would try to avoid as much hardship as possible by making choices in their best interest.

We really don't do shit for women's health here, we might extend some coverage for children after they are born but it's a favorite target for cutbacks and has a sizable donut hole in most states.

I'm just curious what the idiot liberal dumbocrats will say when the elderly are turned down for life saving surgery and anyone over 55 is denied transplant surgery because the government deems it "not cost effective" when weighing cost vs. life expectancy? Prices ration things in the United States, not the government. That's why lacking the money for it--not government decrees--is the reason you, or anyone, doesn't have something.

One way for government intervention to try and overcome that is to offer financial assistance for some good you've been priced out of. But if they don't offer that assistance or that assistance, coupled with your own earnings, isn't enough to cover the price and you still don't get it, it's not because the government kept you from getting it, it's because that's how prices work. Welcome to a market economy.

Lifetime benefit caps (which the children highlighted on the first page were close to reaching due to their serious health conditions) have not existed for health plans renewed after September 2010. Pre-existing condition exclusions for children's health plans were eliminated at the same time.
