An Air Force buddy of mine was stationed at Alconbury in the U.K. for 3 years. He lived off base and got to know the locals in his neighborhood pretty good. The first time he asked for sweet tea at his pub, he was soundly rebuked. Over time, he tried again with the others on the wait staff. No luck. Finally, he asked the lady who ran the joint for a cup of hot tea and a glass of ice. (There was sugar on the table). She half turned to go get the order, stopped, turned back and told him, "Oh no you don't!"
