What do you mean "northern excursions" or by "consistent changes is most"?

From Wikipedia

***************************************************************
Most work on Rossby waves has been done on those in Earth's atmosphere. Rossby waves in the Earth's atmosphere are easy to observe as (usually 4-6) large-scale meanders of the jet stream. When these deviations become very pronounced, they detach the masses of cold, or warm, air that become cyclones and anticyclones and are responsible for day-to-day weather patterns at mid-latitudes. Rossby waves may be partly responsible for the fact that eastern continental edges, such as the Northeast United States andEastern Canada, are colder than Western Europe at the same latitudes.[2]

That doesn't sound like greater activity at the northern extremities.

And, under Coriolis effect we find:
*********************************************************************
Newton's laws of motion describe the motion of an object in an inertial (non-accelerating) frame of reference. When Newton's laws are transformed to a rotating frame of reference, the Coriolis force and centrifugal force appear. Both forces are proportional to the mass of the object. The Coriolis force is proportional to the rotation rate and the centrifugal force is proportional to its square. The Coriolis force acts in a direction perpendicular to the rotation axis and to the velocity of the body in the rotating frame and is proportional to the object's speed in the rotating frame. The centrifugal force acts outwards in the radial direction and is proportional to the distance of the body from the axis of the rotating frame. These additional forces are termed inertial forces, fictitious forces or pseudo forces.[1] They allow the application of Newton's laws to a rotating system. They are correction factors that do not exist in a non-accelerating or inertial reference frame.
*********************************************************************

The highlighted text indicates the centrifugal component is greatest at the equator and goes to zero at the poles. The Coriolis force is proportional to the mass in question and rotational rate, neither of which vary with latitude.

You obviously didn't spend the 55 minutes watching Rock's "crazy hands" Rutgers Prof provide "her evidence" for the CURRENT changes in weather patterns. She makes that claim repeatedly -- but her DATA showed else wise. Don't quote Wiki on the Coriolis Effect. Just amaze YOURSELF with that knowledge.

What the Rutgers prof measured was a bunch of zones in lattitude and about 20 years worth of Rossby data. Those "waves" have a northern excursion from "normal" and a southern excursion from normal limits. Because the "waves" are sinewave shaped. And the data was only really conclusive for the NORTHERN amplitudes of those waves. Meaning the effect at the pole-ward ends -- not the temperate zone ends.

AND the data was very limited since 20 years or so is a drop in the bucket of "climate" timescale. AND -- the amount of "growth" in the southward side of those dips for the limited data was on the order of a 0.08 degLat per decade.. Or something like extending farther south by 5 miles/year..

And that first quote you pulled says NOTHING about how 1 deg affects the boundaries of these waves. In FACT -- it acknowledges that there is no "NORMAL" distribution across all longitudes at all. Many longitude zones are CHRONICALLY affected. Tell me why that is... Homework assignment..

I never stated that the magnitude of the pole/equator temperature delta would determine the magnitude of the Rossby waves. The material I quoted only stated that the odds of their incidence increased.

The geometry of our globe has an existential effect on Rossby waves in the jet stream. Northward deviations are compressed by the shrinking circles of latitude, southward deviations are spread, stretched and thinned by their increasing length as one approaches the equator.

PS, what do you believe is wrong with the text I quoted from Wikipedia on Rossby Waves and Coriolis? And do me the favor of actually addressing the material vice a blanket denunciation of Wikipedia, as I am quite certain the references to both comments blow anything you've got, out of the water.
